what is non federal work-study??

A princeton job not funded by the government

o...another question...in my financial aid package, the amount next to student employment..i think it's for like personal spendings....does this mean I can work any # of hours I want?? I hope so.

You can work for however long you want regardless of what it's for. If your parents are willing to fund your nightly debaucheries, you don't have to work at all; or if you can work more than the prescribed amount for whatever reason.

I thought they said that students on Work Study can only work a certain number of hours and have a maximum limit on the amount of money they can make. They monitor your earnings closely to ensure you don't make more money that you're supposed to, beause the government pays 75% of your wage...

Anyway, just wanted to confirm that we can't apply for our jobs until we meet with our advisors in September and set up our course schedules, right? I don't think you can even access the job application forms online until you're on the Pton campus.

There is a $ limit to how much you can work. The amount listed in your finaid package is the maximum that you can make this year, but of course you can find non-work study and off-campus jobs.

I think you have to wait until you get on campus to apply for jobs. You're supposed to attend a meeting depending on what you've been assigned.

so if it's non-federal work study thingy....you can work like 4~5 hrs a week?? cuz it's just gonna be for personal spending right??

yeah my job is non federal work study too and as far as I can figure out it seems to be for my personal expenses...

Federal or non-federal, you keep the money you earn so it is for personal expenses either way. I don't know if Princeton caps how much you can make even if it's non-federal work study, because usually work-study jobs have a limit.
