Studying SAT with music? (earphones)

Is studying the SAT (such as the Blue Book), with music using earphones at low volume any bad? Because I tend to get off-task and be bored, but a bit more motivated with music.

However, I am not well aware of the possible drop in concentration, as well, that I may be risking, by listening to music as I study.

it depends on the music…
you can’t listen to gangnam style and hope to get a 36/2400 IMO

I’m not sure if I’m aloud to post links, but it is a Korean-style Ballad. Nothing intense like pop/rock, etc

Stop over-analyzing and just study. It really doesn’t make much of a difference either way.

I second DiscipulusBonus.

@DiscipulusBonus‌ Well then… you could have said that in a more nicer tone XD
okay I’ll get studying woop writing section

Try to experiment with this. Do you find yourself retaining more with music? Do you find yourself getting distracted as you mentally sing along with the words? Having insight into yourself and your own studying is a great way to figure this out.

Personally for me I can only focus while studying with wordless music (classical, jazz, EDM) or in foreign languages I don’t understand. Listening to Eminem is a complete nonstarter for me.

Are you going to listen to music during the actual test? No, right? So I recommend that you don’t listen to it, but it’s up to you

There’s this thing called binaural beats, and I’ve used them in the past to focus while studying. They stimulate your brain waves to either concentrate or fall asleep depending on the wave type. While I don’t use it that much now, it’s quite helpful. Look it up on youtube and listen with earbuds (look for the gamma waves).

Yeah, I’ve used it before to test it for sleeping LOL, pretty interesting

Currently using a study aid binaural beat LOL i wonder if it actually works. Most people seem to say that it does…b but you never know

Since it kept me from procrastinating on the internet while typing an essay, I say it works pretty well.

I used it for 3 hours just now, works great LOOL, feels much different when i take ear phones out… but i’m pretty sure it’s just a placebo to the mind

Cool, btw another k-listener here :)

^Love em LOL, got like 5 of you new-friends now ^o^
