Successful AP Rescore Stories?

Yes, @yeongil I will take this into consideration, I believe I’m going to request my FRQ’s and then have those graded by my teacher and see what my MC score must have been to get a 3 based on my FRQ response score and see if it seems reasonable, if it doesn’t then I’ll ask for rescore

Hey guys. I took the AP Biology exam this year and I got a 4 when I thought I was going to receive a 5. I know that the majority of people will say that rescoring won’t change your score by 1 grade, however there were about 10-15 MCQ on the answer sheet where I put a star next to them so I could come back to them and after answering those questions I never had time to erase the stars. Do you guys think I should get a rescore because those questions could be the difference between a 4 and a 5?

Is there a 2016 rescore form? I can’t find it

received my scores from the World History AP test today and was completely blindsided with my score of a 3. I have averaged a 96-97 in this class the entire year which ranks in the top 1% of students who took the class (at a very high caliber school). Additionally, I have taken 2 practice exams and scored 5s on both which I believe was graded accurately as for my teacher has been a AP reader in previous years. Also, I felt very confident coming out of my AP exam thinking I scored much higher than the score I received today. If I am unsure about the accuracy of my score on the AP test what steps do I need to take to resolve this issue and/or gain closure? I have done some research and have seen that it is not out of the question that a portion of my test might not have been graded and/or not factored into my total score which would justify my confidence and my score. If this is the case how will I be notified of this mishap? Thank you for your time.

Isn’t it so strange how everyone talking here is referring to the World exam? :stuck_out_tongue:

I honestly think it sounds like CollegeBoard messes up the World exams or the curve is very unforgiving.

@HeyDinero they won’t notify you unless you submit a rescore request which costs $30 and even then, they will only rescore your MC by hand they won’t touch the FRQ. It will take 6-8 weeks and once you send the money in you should then follow up with a call about a week after to make sure they received your money because far too often do they “lose” money. Hope this helped

if we do rescore our exams and get a higher score by any chance, do our teachers and school get notified by collegeboard?

Your school, yes. If your teacher had access to see the original score (not all teachers have access), then they will see the rescore.

Does anyone know if putting a mark next to the question number on a scantron and not erasing it could cause the question to be marked wrong?

I also got a 3 on my APWH exam and was expecting a 4-5. Any news on the test?

I really want somebody’s opinion. I got my AP Human Geography Exam results, and I wasn’t pleased. I was astonished when I scrolled down and saw that 3. I just found it so shocking because I studied using the Princeton Review Book, and Barron’s book as well. I’ve been studying for the exam continuously using these review books and I was pretty confident that I had a great understanding of the course. I had a 99 in the class first semester and a 108 second semester. I thought that the exam was pretty easy, especially the FRQ’s and many people in the 2016 AP Human Geo CC Forum shared the same answers as me when it came to the FRQ. In addition, I was assured that if I didn’t do excellent, at least I had to do well on the MC section. What shocked me even more is that a person in my class got a 4 on the exam even though he admitted that I knew more about the course than he does, and he exclaimed that he sure didn’t study as much as I did. P.S. Yesterday, when I was checking my scores, I had an error message saying that my AP Human Geo score was linked to another account. This baffled me because once I took the AP Exam, I created a CB account and added my AP number to only that new account. But yesterday, they said that my score was on an account that I created in middle school when I took the PSAT in middle school. That old CB account(created 2 years ago) had my current e-mail (current e-mail created 5 months ago), and had my current home address (I wasn’t living in my current address when I created the CB account in middle school). And I wasn’t the one who changed those information. In addition, that old CB account (created in middle school) was solely made to view my PSAT scores. I was wondering if it was possible that the college board matched my MC but not my FRQ with my old account, or vice versa. I’m contemplating that maybe the account mix up maybe was a factor of me getting a 3 because they possibly didn’t match up all my exam material with one account. I know that this is just AP Human Geo and that I’m still a freshman, but I’m curious to know if I had 3 in one of the easiest AP class after my best efforts, and believe me I was positive that I made at least a 4, then what does this say for the more challenging AP courses that I plan to take in the near future? What worries me even more is that I aspire to get into a well-known institution such as the prestigious Ivy Leagues or others in similar degree. And if I can barely pass an easy AP exam, what does it say for more challenging AP exam yet to come. BTW, the AP Human Geography class and the exam seemed relatively easy. What do you think? Should I rescore my exam? Or should I put all of this to the past? Sorry for the long paragraph.

Thanks in advance for anyone who finds the time to read my lengthy paragraph.

@doulab If you think that your account was mixed up with someone else’s then I suggest that you call collegeboard and ask them about it because getting you exam rescored will not help you get your score if it is on another person’s account. Good luck

Also does anyone know if putting a star next to a question on a scantron and not erasing it could get the question marked wrong? Thanks in advance for answering.

@neehal120 My account was not mixed with someone else’s account. I said that it was possibly mixed up with my old CB account I created in middle school. I was wondering that maybe the FRQ or MC section of the AP Human Geography Exam wasn’t properly matched with my new account which I created this year, resulting in me getting a 3 because probably one part was missing.

No

In the very unlikely event that one part went missing, the CB would extrapolate a score based upon the remaining part.

@doulab same thug happened to me too. Thought I got a 5 but got a 3 and it told me to long into a different random account that I created years ago.
