To be honest, they’re killing my dreams…

theblusrstilblu, Same story here. My son is a very strong math student. He’s had top grades in honors math classes, near perfect SAT scores, high scores on practice BC Calculus exams. He thought he aced the BC exam but got a 1 with an AB subscore of 1. He’s in shock and his confidence is shot. I’ll be mailing a rescore request tomorrow.

I’m looking for advice on whether or not I should re-score. I’m one of the top students in a school that has about a 50% 4/5 rate on the AP World test. I’m a very strong essay writer. On the in-class essays I never scored below a 6, but he gave us hints at the topics beforehand. On the practice tests I scored in the mid 3 - mid 5 range depending on how good or bad my essays would have been. When I got the actual test, I was a bit iffy on the MC, but still felt relatively confident. When I got the essays, I felt confident enough about those to have put money on getting a 9 on at least one of them if not on two or all three. I ended up getting a 3 as my final score. I could have just had a very bad test on the MC, the readers may have found my handwriting illegible, they could have not liked my essays and essentially thrown them out, or there was a mishap on the grading. Do you think that I should go for the re-score or suck it up and take the 3 that I got?

What If I think they messed up on my AP Biology FRQs because instead of labeling my responses like 1a, 1b, I did all of my question 1’s together. I read that this essay format is acceptable but most people don’t do it like that. Since my response wasn’t labeled there is a chance they might have messed up?

CAN I DO ANYTHING ABOUT MY FRQS BECAUSE I THINK THEY COULD HAVE MESSED IT UP?

I got a 3 on AP euro when I was sure of an easy 5. : (

Should I rescore? Has anyone else been caught off guard by the AP euro exam?

^Maybe you underestimated the curve? I would put my expected scores into the following calculator and see where that actually puts me before I rescore:
[AP Pass - AP Euro Calculator](AP European History Test Score Calculator - AP Pass).

Yeah, I should have gotten at least a 4.

Actually, I just checked this site: [AP Pass - AP Us Calculator](AP U.S. History Test Score Calculator - AP Pass)

If you got every MC right and left all FRQs blank, you’d still get a 4. So, I think it’d be worth the effort and money to rescore, since one section by itself could definitely get you a 3.

My son gets a 4 in AP English Language. He said he did very good and felt good about it, but the score is disappointing. Should he get it rescored?

wildwood888, most universities gladly accept 4’s in Eng Lang. Unless your university doesn’t offer credit for it, there’s really no reason to try. I recieved 3’s in all 4 of my ap exams this year, and although I was a bit disappointed, I knew that I recieved credit, so I didn’t do anything. Remember that you’re paying to get college credit, and if you already have that, then your work is done. The 5 is usually just icing on the cake.

No. It’s unlikely that a bubbling error could get him a 4, and more unlikely that one section was accidentally left out in the score adding process. He simply thought he did better than he really did (which happens).

I really thought that I could have managed a 4 or 5 on the Chemistry exam, but I got a 3. I’ve taken 9 AP exams and got 5’s on all of them except this one. Do you think it’s worth rescoring?

Is it worth rescoring my AP English score of two? I found the test rather easy and I also took APUSH and received a higher score which I thought was a harder test? I also asked a couple of people I know what they got and one girl who barely knew the content got a three. I mean I felt really confident in the MC and essays so I was shocked to get a two. In my case, should I request a rescore? Is there something wrong or does CB absolutely love the kids that BS their essays?

If I got my FRQ back and asked my teacher to grade it and she says I deserve a higher grade than what I got how do I notify the Collegeboard?
Also, is it better to rescore and get the FRQ or just rescore in case they realize they didn’t add in the FRQ or somethig?

you cannot get FRQs rescored.

I recently received my AP european score and I got a 2. I really thought I did better than that. I answer all the questions I knew (45-50) and skipped the ones I wasn’t sure of(and I mean just a little bit unsure) and my FRQ’s and DBQ I thought I did fine on. Is there anyway for them to check over my test to see whether I deserved a 2 or higher? Is it worth it?

My son just received his response to his Calculus AB rescore request. He originally got a 1…and the letter stated that the score did not change.

Kind of disappointed in the letter because it is just a standard form letter. Gives no insight as to if they looked at things like misbubbling, which he specifically listed as a concern in his rescore letter to CB.

Oh well. Ordered the FRQ booklet. He really thought he did well on the MC - not so well on the FRQ…but never expected a 1.

I just got my rescore back too for AP Physics C:Mech and it says that I still got a 2 and the score was accurate. I thought I got at least a 3…:(

I’m planning on asking for a rescore on my APWH exam which I got a 3 on. I felt like it was much easier than the practice tests I took (most of which I got 4’s & 5’s on). So, what do I include in my mail to CB? (Other than my $25 check & letter…?)
