Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

Just hung up from UT Admission Office 2 minutes ago. Student who completing 30 credits this semester is not competitive applicant, recommend not to apply. OMGGGG!!! asdwa dgfadgfdhybsvARFCSDADXS YOU GUYS DONT KNOW HOW THIS FEEL!!! :’(((((

@Yoohooos‌ So you mean those who haven’t met the requirement?

@yoohooos from experiences it seems like many in the Admissions office say very different things about the admission process. I understand that you are discouraged, but try to not let it take you down too much. People with less than 30 hours at the time of application have successfully been able to transfer in the past.

@cdctransfer‌ Well, yes, it’s seem like including student completing requirement[they didn’t say this, but I concluded], but I only asked them about 30 credits requirement

@ecollin‌ Yes, I talk to one of them in the beginning of the year and they said it’s OKAY, and today I talk to two different person and still got same answer, but thanks anyway

Wow that just killed a lot of hope.

Someone else should call and ask the same thing

Well, all I can say is good luck to everyone.

It’s of no use. Just wait. You have to win the waiting game.

@Yoohooos‌ You should call Main Bld rm 7 (512 475 7399) and ask to speak with Lisa Lockhart–senior admissions counselor. She WILL know.

I think you get conflicting answers because this is very new for UT. They now give priority to those with 30 already completed, but again this is new. This is almost entirely due to the trouble students have who are admitted in June or January, getting classes and housing and everything. There were just so many complaints that they try to just deal with the ones over 30 and discourage the ones without it. Some counselors might be more open about that

@Longhorns061012‌
Do you mean students applying sophomore year have a better chance of transferring to UT?
How can a student have over 30 hours and not be a sophomore by the time they apply?

Since my goal was for Cockrell, and their admission open only in Summer/Fall. I think I’ll try to get in CS [CNS] and try for internal transfer after 28 credits. Anyone have information about external transfer to CS?

@MathMeany‌ thanks, and I’ll try to call tmr

Any new updates??

Could someone chance me?

Might as well throw mine on here to see what you guys think.

I’m feeling pretty good about my chances but wanted to get an opinion if you guys have the time. Thanks!

-Additionally, I’d expect we’ll start hearing the first wave in 10 or so days. No need to keep bothering those working in the admissions office unless no one has heard anything by mid-May.

I’ve noticed that alot of people, including me, are going for liberal arts. How much can liberal arts take in? If we all chose different areas of study, would COLA be able to take in more students?

I have to be admitted for the fall or else I will not be able to be a BFA candidate. I… My heart just shattered into a million pieces. I am currently finishing my 30 hours. I will live 20 minutes from campus as long as I get to go to UT. This feels awful. So much hard work to not even be considered.

@yoohoos CS external transfer is just as hard as Engineering, that would be a waste of time
