@Geekytheatregeek I really know how you feel but we have to stick in there. I do believe that if you don’t have 30 hours yet and your stats are fine that the only thing you’re competing for is space. The limited space will decide which 30 hour applicants will get in. The more space the more diverse applicant pool accepted.
I do not have a phone (Completely shattered) so if anyone could please go ahead and call the senior admissions counselor.
I am right now.
@Yoohooos @Geekytheatregeek I agree with @Kyotoraz. This from the Be a Longhorn page–
"Transfer applicants may apply for admission while working to complete the last of their required 30 semester hours of transfer coursework. However, when admission decisions are made, preference may be given to applicants who have completed 30 hours by the deadline.
In cases where the applicant has not completed 30 hours by the deadline, all application items, including official transcripts of already completed coursework, must arrive in the Office of Admissions by the deadline. Such applicants must then submit official transcripts showing completed coursework for the current semester as soon as the semester is completed and no later than June 1 for summer/fall applicants and January 5 for spring applicants."
Just be sure you get your spring transcripts in by June 1.
If it turns out that this years applicant pool was to large/competitive to leave room for those with <30 hrs by the application deadline, it’s not the end of the road–just keep plugging away. Continue taking classes that will transfer and maintain your GPA so that when the time comes to reapply–you’ll be sitting pretty with ~60 hrs/high GPA and thus given priority over those with <30 hrs.
I know that’s probably not what you wanted to hear, just trying to offer another perspective–this entire process is an emotional roller coaster. If you don’t get discouraged, stay focused and motivated–you WILL achieve your goal.
Yeah, it just sucks for me because if I’m not accepted for the fall I will have to transfer to my safety school that I’m already accepted to in the fall but it doesn’t even compare to UT. So I will essentially be paying a ton of money to be at a school that I don’t want to go to. I would stay at my CC but my parents don’t want me to be here longer than a year. And I really don’t want to be here longer than a year. Ugh. This is really an emotional rollercoaster that I wasn’t prepared for. It doesn’t help that I’ve visited Austin and the campus so many times this year and fell even deeper in love every time.
Also, I called the admissions person and got her answering machine so I’m going to call back after class. But if anyone gets to her before then let me know.
@Geekytheatregeek I used to live in austin and absolutely love it. The campus and just the atmosphere of the city are just great. I really dislike Lubbock and Tech. The chemistry program here is a joke. So I guess this will come down just waiting and hoping the admissions really like our applications.
There is no point in discussing these things right now. By being unhappy we are ruining our grades for the classes which we are taking now. Chill everyone of us is gonna know our status next week so let’s just calm down and concentrate on what we are doing now.
@MathMeany Thanks a lot!!!
So, does anyone know if we get reject, and we take Summer class and finish before August, can we appeal after that Summer grade came out?
I don’t find out until mid June because I’m finishing my 33 hours in May. I can’t wait to hear all of your results in the next couple weeks!
Same here I really want to see all of the hard work pay off for you guys
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to find out the cumulative transfer GPA that UT calculated for me? I read that it was available under the financial aid tab before but since the deadline has passed, I cannot do it that way! Any info helps

Here’s their admissions phone number:

If anyone here who got in for summer wants to sublease an apartment please let me know! I’m trying to move back to SA as soon as possible! It’s in West campus and it has an amazing 18th story view!! Private message me! $995 a month is the only downside!
Hmm… according to the last year thread, we can get a decision on next week,
If I got an email from UT stating my FAFSA is valid from summer 2015 to Spring 2016, does that mean I’m in? Or does that just mean I will qualify for aid IF accepted?
@Mendoza04 That’s a good question What happens if you try and access the financial aid tab on your status page?
guys, can you try to find your room mate after finishing the housing application?
Guys, for Fin-aid, I also got that email on 4/6 but can’t see any change on the application Financial aid page. It still says: "Decisions about financial aid will be made after you have been officially admitted and your financial aid application has been processed.
We have received your Continuing & Transfer Student Scholarship Application for 2015."
I also tried to find the room mate and was able to search several available room mates meeting my preferences.
I don’t think the Financial email means much accept that they received my application on time and applicable for Fall 2015.
