Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@MathMeany I have the same plan as you do. But instead I’ll be going to tech this fall if I am rejected from both UT and A&M.
What are your stats? I am asking because I have applied for petroleum engineering at both schools.

@stevenjp I have applied for summers, but I didn’t expect such a delay in the decision…

Thursday so maybe more decisions?!

Hope we see a bunch of acceptances roll in today. This wait gets more painful by the day!

@Dayeedkhan

Chair, Department of Physical Sciences (MS in Astronomy, Ph.D in Science Education—Both from UT)

THE BAD

–I DID NOT graduate from high school, I have a GED
–I have NO volunteer/extracirricular activities

@Dayeedkhan PE is soooo competitive! I personally know 3 others who applied with 4.0’s so my expectations are not very high. With so many applying to PE/ME I’m wondering if ME has become extremely competitive as well…
@Kyotoraz @cathys424 I’ve heard that there are a bunch of hood rats in Lubbock is that true? Honestly my biggest apprehension is living near a bunch of wanna be thugs.

Haven’t checked MyStatus today yet, but… I’m assuming no more decisions have rolled out yet :frowning:

No change in status for me yet.

@MathMeany I have the same stats except that I am already done with all the maths and sciences and taking statics this semester. But you’ll have a better chance because they prefer students transfering from ACC over other CC’s.
I am extreamly nervous because I have applied for summers!

@Dayeedkhan have you heard back from AM?

Just called and was told May 1st. It is pointless to call

@cdctransfer as in we’ll hear anytime between now and then?

That’s when they said most decisions will start rolling out.

I just got accepted into UT’s FRI research program. Not sure how that relates me to my official acceptance/rejection but just something interesting to look at.

@MathMeany Yeah Lubbock has a bunch of those. There was a actually a video released of Tech students trying to answer simple US history. Their replies were very embarrassing and kind of hysterical. I would try and google it if you need a laugh.

Thanks @MyUTAustin !!

Any more acceptances/rejections today?

Who is applying to McCombs?

I am @UOUTA7

I spoke with admissions as well and they said hopefully may 1st. I applied for pre-nursing as a transfer student. Crossing my fingers but things don’t look good for me. I spoke with the assistant dean in the nursing dept and apparently going back for a 2nd degree in nursing is not advantageous and they encourage such students like myself to apply to the ae-msn they offer or do an accelerated nursing track offered elsewhere. That was very disappointing to hear. My fiancé just got in to the Masters in Finance and Masters in Accounting program. It would be wonderful if we could both be going there. I am always hopeful despite the odds. I am ready for the news just like each and everyone of you!
