The admissions stuff pertained mostly to the Law school.
Anyone hearing from McCombs?

Deals with freshman admission–but maybe provides insight on transfer admission as well?

@UOUTA7 so far only one person in this thread… Hopefully the rest of us will hear something soon!
This upcoming week feels like THE week. Hope I’m right!
Lol @aksamq8 I’ve had that feeling every Sunday for like 3 weeks. Hope you are right!
Lol @ecollin tell me about it. The worst part is everything else it affects. The people at my job keep asking me if I’m leaving and if they need to start looking for a replacement, my roommate needs to know so he can plan accordingly, etc. Just wish they’d take into consideration everything else it affects. Hard to do, I know. Just frustrating.
I feel that so much. If I get in I have to start the transfer process of my workplace to Austin (work in a national chain) and also my roomies need to know. And pretty much everyone else since I would be moving so far away. Damn, I really wish I still lived in Texas. It would make this so much easier!
Hello everyone!
I’ve been lurking around the forums for the past few weeks, because it’s the only thing that’s keeping me sane with all this wait. I’ve learned a lot more about the admissions process from here than the actual university.
Anyways, I was hoping if someone could chance a friend of mine. We were really hoping to go to college together, but I’ve already gotten my acceptance letter from the College of Fine Arts, and I have to make my decision before he even knows whether he’s admitted or not. Here are his stats:
Transferring from Community College
Current GPA: 3.68
Completed 33 hours by the end of Fall 2014 (I think he’s taking 17 hours right now)
College Applied for: Cockrell - Mechanical Engineering
Essays were good and reviewed by a friend who was once an admissions person at A&M
1 LOR from high school Engineering teacher
Strong Resume
Driver and programmer for robot at FRC robotics competition in Lubbock, engineering club, robotics clubs, 3 engineering related internships, had 2 different jobs while attending school (not at the same time), 4 years of engineering classes in high school, AP scholar, National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society, Varsity Band for 3ish years, top 10% at community college.
He’s taken DC and AP classes, and it’s mainly the DC classes he took during high school that brought his GPA down. He made a 4.0 during the Fall 2014 semester.
Thank you so much for your time! I really appreciate it.
Good luck to everyone!
Living in Texas for sure helps! The other big thing is you can’t really do anything as far as living situations until accepted (unless you’re living in a dorm and pay the deposit). So many things to worry about!
@Roku1331 What is your major within COFA? I’m applying for BFA Theatre Studies.
@Geekytheatregeek I applied for a BFA in Studio Art. I got my letter around April 17th, so I was accepted really early. Not entirely sure how competitive COFA is since most of the stuff I’ve seen here on CC has been about McCombs, Cockrell, CNS and CoLA.
Let’s hope this week we here some more news from admissions, May 1st is on Friday…
Got into CNS as a Math Major today!!!
@ryanc28 congratulations >:D<
Can you please share your stats as well.
Congratulations!! @ryanc28
CNS among results too. Wake up Cockrell, gotta catch up.
Still waiting on Moody as well.
Yup, nothing from Moody. Why did they tease us with some of those acceptances earlier?
Hey guys, I’ve been reading this forum for the past few weeks! Just got my acceptance as a transfer to CNS as a biochemistry major! Good luck to the rest of you!!
