I know so isn't it fun? For those of you CC'ers studying this summer in hopes of raising your SAT scores, how's it going?

I really need to raise my SAT1 score a bunch, so how much of an increase can I expect? I've heard success stories of 300+ gains during summer...crazy

My strategy is to read a lot and take a practice test every two weeks. The workload doesn't seem overwhelming, but it should add up to a decent amount of practice by the time October comes around.

although i haven't started it yet b/c i'm taking summer cal 3, my strategy is to do 5 math problems a night without any help from the books...and then do a practice test once a week.

Reading and Writing have been vanquished - 770 and 780, I don't care if they go up, although I wouldn't mind it.

My dad's expecting me to take a practice test a day... which is crazy lol. So I've been slacking off immensely though I'm trying to motivate myself with chocolate. I haven't taken the SATI yet, but I did get a 235 on my PSAT, so I'm hoping to perfect myself for a perfect/close-to-perfect score.

i took it for the first time in april, and got a 1910. i want around a 2100...so I'm just spending about 1.5hrs a night practicing (which isn't that much since u have the whole day to goof around).

I haven't started studying yet, haven't touched a book since April really... but I'm definitely going to try to this summer, with all my AP hw and stuff too.

I'd like to improve at least 80 points to hit my 2200, with at least 20+ on my CR. I went up 90 points from April to June without studying anymore, so I'm hoping if I really devote myself to studying I can make another jump, at least a teeny bit, even if not that.

Gotta forumlate a real plan for studying...

haha...2PInZ im in the same situation as u...1950, trying to get 2100, basically its all cuz my reading score is really low, 570, but my math and writing are ok 720, 660 respectivelly

There's no real studying to be done for the SAT, jsut practice. The only real prep I had was Question of the Day from Collegeboard, and over liek a four-month period I rose from a 2010 to like a 2220, and I totally attribute it to the questions. Just take it easy and do prep over time, and learn your vocabulary over time, too, like one or two a day, maybe?

dude, i didn't start studying until a week before the test (i wasted spring break studying)
the way i figure, wierdolilgrl is on the money when she says practice (though i think two questions a day might help you twice as much!)

any suggestions to raise a CR score? i had a 2070 overall (760-M,700-W,610-CR). trying to hit 2200 in october and like most of you, i havent really looked at anything since my last test, which for me has been a while (january lol).

yah, my parents are urging me (if i cant use a more true term: forcing me) to do at least 2 hrs a day. i know i need it, but its kinda hard. solving practice tests everyday seems so....boring. the fun part though is preparing for the reading skills, i get to read more books.

hey I thought i was the only weirdo/nerd studying for SAT's in the summer. I am depending on the october SAT's to tide me over to my dream schools!!
I got a 1900, but I hope I can promptly throw that out the window. :)
Otherwise I am aiming for around a 2200. I guess I am hoping fro a miracle 300 point increase. good luck to everyone else!
