no, I went to Session A, redhead. That's kind of funny though that both sessions had a male gymnast who did a lot of pullups... :)

As for extra work-out t-shirts, I think we only used the shirts we were given (yeah, we wore them alot). As Z-Man said though, one or two extra work-out shirts can't hurt. In this case it's probably better to be safe than sorry.

Oh youre right... we always had the SS one on... hmmm. I think i brought one or two to.. either sleep or travel home in. I can't remember. lol. It's crazy that its already been a YEAR since we were at summer sci..

As far as pull-ups go, I couldn't do one at SS. I did 3 for the CFA, 4 when I entered, and 10 on my last PFT...and I'm on recondo. You WILL improve if you try.

Thanks raimus, it makes me feel better to know that you were still accepted even though you couldn't do pull-ups at the SS. Congratulations on getting 10! I guess I just need to work on them more and hopefully by the next time I take the CFA I will do better.

Is recondo if you cant make min?

Hah hah hah hah hah LOL

Internet to the rescue! From what I could pull up, recondo is short for "reconnaissance commando" and is probably a reference to a type of Army special forces training that bears the same name. Fort Carson, just south of Colorado Springs, does recondo training so I'd imagine that's where cadets go to get their recondo badge. Apparently there's a TV special on it as well (http://tv.yahoo.com/show/23368).

There you go.

Actually recondo, I believe, is short for reconditioning and is meant for cadets who don't meet the PFT requirements. Yes, cadets can go to Fort Carson, only 2 digs or firsties, to participate in the course, but in Raimius' context I think he means extra PT.

http://www.usafatoday.com/wiki/index.php/Reconditioning

Yeah, Raimius has mentioned it before.

Yeah there is a recondo badge for the extra school, and then there is reconditioning for folks who cant make minimums on the PFT. I was confused when i first heard it used for both lol.

Still, that's some pretty cool info, zachogden. Good job finding it.

But yeah, raimius was on athletic probation a while back (I think that's right). You have to pass everything, or you won't get quite as much leave or something like that. Raimius could tell you more, though. I'm just going off of what I remember him saying a couple months ago.

My experience is with the recondo badge. A badge that required physical excellence.

Recondo in the USAFA case is reconditioning AKA athletic probation. Recondo is extra PT (2hours of PT three days a week). It is based off of your cumulative PEA. When on probation, at cadet is restricted to base unless they submit a staff summary sheet and get it approved.

I failed my first PFT, which created a low PEA. I was able to get a 2.4 PEA this semester, but it did not bring my cum up enough. I will need to pass the replacement PFT next semester to guarantee getting off recondo. That shouldn't be too hard though.

LOL thanks for the info. Yes. SOmetimes its just a matter of learning how to take the test.
