Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics (NC)

aaaaaaaaah....it was pretty good (the English part was simply awesome.) But a for Math, not sure though, I thought we'd be given an hour to do 30 some questions! Anyway, first of all, I was startled to find SO easy maths.....I was then looking whether there is any tricks w/in those questions! All in all, I probably did 26-27 of the problems (hoping I got 23-25 of them right)
This math section really made me angry.....and I'm just trying to forget abt it altogether :D
How was urs?

Hopefully I'll know by the end of the week! I was thinking an NCSSM thread might show up as decision week is upon us. I know Summer Ventures is the appropriate topic for this thread, and I don't want to be the one to stop the thread. Anyone got any Summer Ventures comments?

Me too! There ain't a lot of NCers here, so I didn't feel like opening a new thread rather, continuing w/ it.........Now, as far as I remember, SVSM result comes on this Thursday! This thread will soon die :( anyway. Decision wk of NCSSM is next week! (OMG! that's the Easter Vacation week for me!!!)

Yeah, we find out about summer ventures tomorrow. Hopefully I get in, if not, that's fine too since I would be able to earn some cash this summer.Good luck everyone...

Woot! I just got the letter and I'm going to the one at West Carolina from June 17 - July 14! Score!

I'm too going to attend from Jun 17 to Jul 14 at WCU too!

AHHH!!! Western Carolina!!! I did my best to escpae having to go there, but only because my whole family goes there to college. I will concede, however, that the mountains are a whole lot better than the coast :)

So, how's WCU? Is it chilly or sth like that? I'm rather from sorta eastern carolina, well at the tip of SC and kinda like leaning towards the east.........isn't WCU a good place to spend the summer?

In all seriousness, WCU has great weather, as is the case with most of the mountain region. Its nice and secluded, but I guess you can tell that since it is in "Cullowhee" It doesn't get crazy hot like it does out east sometimes.

Are you an alumni of Summer Ventures egghead? If so, how's the overall experience? I myself am actually pretty stoked at the moment :)

Egghead, like, if I tell u ECU or WCU? Which one would u've preferred for SVSM? (which part of NC r u from by the way?)

I am from the far west of NC. I would have preferred ECU, but only because WCU is like an hour away so I've been there for numerous programs. I do agree that WCU is the better choice though. I went to ASU for SV 2 years. I really enjoyed the campus and program there, but once again, I am partial to the mountain region.

My son is checking hte mailbox - pins and needles for him. No letter yet - we are in the Charlotte area

That's weird; I live in the Charlotte area too and I got mine today.

I live near the triangle and got my letter today. WCU June 17-July 14. For Biology I think?

I wonder if there will be any white water rafting. That would be pretty cool.

Isn't there ANYONE going to another campus?! Cubsfan23, r u decided that u r going there?

There is rafting on the Nantahala River, about 30 minutes from WCU. They take groups rafting every year.

I'll probably go there, its still kinda far from Raleigh area, but it's cool.

I applied too. I just knew I was going to ECU but my letter said WCU. It is the same date as many of you all. I am wondering if they have the medical program there because that is what I applied for. My acceptance packet does not indicate my academic program assignment. I really hope it is medicine because it will my high school and future education pathway. If not it is probably Biology. PLEASE RESPOND.

In the letter they said they would send program assignments in a few days.
