Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics (NC)

Is anyone going to NCCU, cuz that's where I went. Or do they not host SVSM there anymore?

I got into the summer ventures 07'. They said that 612 North Carolinians got selected! I am assigned to Appalachian State Jul 1-28. Lori Tyler would contact me. How do u know what course of study you are assigned? I hope it's good.

My stats were fair to mediocre with a class rank of like 51. But i still got in!

Ugh, NCSSM decisions should come out by Monday.

Ah, getting prepared for that rejection...

My son got accepted to Summer Ventures 07. He is going to NCCU June 17 - July 14th. YAY for him. He doesnt know yet lol

Didnotfaillife, I feel the same! I am tired of feeling nervousness, anxiety whatever! So, now, I can't even think what's going to happen.....whatever it is, the decision is going to make a BIG EFFECT in me.

luckee626- how was your experience at NCCU - I was hoping my son would have gone to the mountains - oh well - im sure he will have agood time no matter where he goes. He didnt care either way where he got accepted to - he just wanted to get accepted.

I was looking at this information packet and it says that no members of the opposite sex can visit your dorm. :(

I'm only joking. I'm wondering though, how is the program outside the "educational" stuff. Are there dances, bonfires, or other social activities?

Yep! I suppose there are lots of stuffs like that, which ever college u've been accepted to, go to that college website and search for SVSM, u'll definitely find recent pics on social activities and that sorta things.

yay! i got in!

i don't know any details because i'm away from home, but my dad said i got in.

unfortunately, i'm not sure if i can go...

u have other programs for summer?

no...but i was actually planning on NOT making it to summer ventures...

so...i had a trip to NY (i've never been there before), a job, and volunteering at the hospital lined up

but thinking about it again...NY will always be there, i can volunteer at the hospital over the school year, and i have the rest of my life to get a job...and summer ventures is free!

so, i'm leaning toward going to summer ventures. (if i decide to go) i hope to see some of you on campus!

I'm pretty sure I'll go to Summer Ventures but I might get a summer job instead. It would be nice to have some spending money next year as a senior though.

Reaching WCU----what's the transport?! I'm not going by car(a 6 hours journey from my hometown!), so, I'm finding it pretty puzzling! Does anybody know whether there are any bus/train/air ports at Cullowhee? LIke, there are tons at Waynesville and Asheville, but I was just wondering whether there was an easier way to directly reach Cullowhee...........ANybody?

Its 300 miles from where I live but I think I'll still go there by car. My dad will probably take me and drop me off and then drive back. It will be a 6 hour drive I think...

BUMP................has anyone heard from NCSSM anything yet?! I'm getting tired of waiting and waiting!

Haha, I just heard today. I got in. :)

I was so ready to see the "non-finalist" and take classes at the CC instead.

Wow. I still think I'm dreaming right now.

Good for u! Great for u! I just saw it and it says: Incomplete :(
Decision pending due to problem w/ the residency form!

Didnotfaillife---if by any chance u r reading this thread----plz clean up ur mail box! (ur mail box has got 50 messages already!) Well, for others, is there anyone w/ such a 'stupid condition'?!
Congratulations to whoever made it in! :D (hopefully, I can reach to some sort of agreement w/ the residency problem! :))

ACCEPTED to NCSSM!!! YAY!
