You found more than I did. He actually got the email before the official you are accepted letter so even though I thought it was for admitted students, I was not sure. The email indicates come enjoy tradition and campus spirit. I have sent an email to see if there is any additional info. Knowing it is for those who have been accepted, it sounds like a great way to meet fellow classmates.

So, this is an event for Alabama residents? Maybe it’s something that Bama is doing to beef-up instate yield?

Sounds like it is just for Alabama admits. It is not something I had heard about and could not really find anything. Thank you robotbldmom for the info. He registered so we will see what it is about. Thanks!

You’re welcome, No problem
It would be great If you wouldn’t mind reporting back on the event for future students.

I received an invitation for this event the same day my acceptance letter came in. The invitation said it was for admitted Alabama residents only, and more info would come later.

I will be happy to report back. It is scheduled for November 1st.

We had a great time today at Sweet Home Capstone except it was cold!!! About 150 students all from Alabama. All had been accepted. The President said a few words. Tuscaloosa tourism told a little about the town. A panel of advisors, recreation specialist, code of conduct and leadership spoke. We had BBQ on the quad with Big Al. Then the parents took a campus tour by bus Inc a dorm tour. The students playing a game caled Bamazing race where they were given clues and raced each other as they toured the campus. Parents also had the opportunity to listen to financial aid, scholarships, study abroad, housing, camps safety and first year experience. After the tours, the kids met back and all got prizes based on how they did in the race. It was a great day meeting fellow students, their parents and the UA staff.

Awesome! Bamazing! ;)

Thank you for the update.

Sounds like quite a day!! Thanks for the update :)
