Does it actually lower your gpa if you fail it?
I am not great when it comes to butterfly and backstroke :(

"The test is a 75 yard swim which is three lengths of a 25-yard pool.

You must jump into the deep end feet first, swim the first length on your front, the second on your back, and the third is your choice. You may use any stroke. There is no time limit."

Sounds like you only need to know two strokes, and you can always get help with your backstroke :p

Anti-
Practice

Oh, god. I can’t do a backstroke o_o

“on your back” doesn’t necessarily mean backstroke ;P

Haha guys I dont think its really that big of a deal. But Idk

also no matter what your performance on the swim test, it is not lowering your GPA. you just have to take a swim class for your PE, and PE classes are SU (successful/unsuccessful) so they cannot affect your GPA either.

I can’t swim on my back… so depressed now

There’s no time limit, so if you have trouble swimming on your back you can just float and move your arms back and forth a little bit and take half an hour to finish haha

^I literally LOLed I would look like such a loser… time to start practicing hahaha but getting into Cornell is the first and the toughest part!

why does everyone stress out about this swim test? it is really no big deal at all

I thought it’d be a fun topic ;D
something to look forward to (or not)

^did you get in ED, Antiflamer?

i am actually worried. like, actually worried. and it’s not because i can’t swim. basically i dislocate a bone in my foot when i swim, i guess because of the water making contact with it in a bad way. i have no problem with my foot when like running or anything. i might randomly dislocate the bone every now and then if i sit on it but it’s easy to “push” back into place. however, if i’m going to be in water, that process is not exactly expedited.

basically, i’m literally worried about the swim test. if this happens like when i’m halfway through it is not going to be pretty. i think i’m going to have to pedal with my feet as little as possible and just like drag them through the water using my arms. yeah, i’m never going to become an olympic swimmer

looks like beginner swimming for me :(

@rainbow
yup got in ED
but yes i’d really enjoy watching someone trying hard to pass the swim test

Butterfly!? I don’t even think most lifeguards can do that properly.
If you don’t know how to swim backstroke, just float backwards and kick. I’ve seen lots of people do that, no one will laugh at you, seriously…

I would think it’s amusing but i won’t laugh. In the end, it would make a person look a lot more approachable and I’ll probably try to make friends with him or her.
I hope other people would see me the same way :)

its a race, while everyone is trying hard, you’re going to be taking it chill looking like the slow guy

I mean, when we’re watching from the sidelines. Do we go in several people at a time, get wet, and race?
I’m just joking anyways :)
