I am thinking about switching one of my second semester classes in my senior year.

It’s not an AP im switching… just a P/F Classical Music Appreciation course… and im think about taking another course (maybe photography?) during a different period (i like the people in the Music Free)…

Do I have to shoot Brown an email? my midsemester report and my application might not line up… if it’s on that im not sure… or my transcript… point is… it wont be 100% the same… can they/will they pull my acceptance if i do this?

I have absolutely no basis for this answer, but out of my personal opinion, I would highly doubt it/think it was ridiculous if they did. Maybe someone who went through this could affirm this "idea"

i heard from a friend whose sister is at brown that a couple years ago she switched a non-AP to another class and she got a letter saying something along the lines of "we noticed you switched classes..." but wasnt sure if it said anything about academic excellence etc....

I am also trying to switch a class for second semester. I e-mail Brown about it and received this:

Yes, any schedule changes MUST be approved by the Admission Office. You would need to submit your request in writing to us via fax 401.863.9300 or regular mail. You should indicate the proposed change, reason, and be sure to sign your letter.

Best wishes,

This is both odd and annoying. Anyone hear of other colleges doing this/ know anyone who's done this?

I followed those instructions last year and they never got back to me. It kind of sucked, because I actually had legitimate reasons why my schedule should be changed, but I was too scared to get my acceptance revoked, so I just dealt with it.

silverlining, how long did it take them to get back to you about it? My second semester starts next monday and I want to get this change made before it starts.

it took a week, maybe less, but a week to get it reviewed and approved. Then my school, being highly beurocratic took about 2 weeks to finally let me drop

I can't remember... on the app did you have to give what classes you were taking second semester? What if you want to switch a class that starts in second semester (non ap)?
