Switching schools within NYU

So I was accepted into the Silver School of Social Work. So far from research, I have heard neither good nor bad things about this school. Does anyone have any input?

Also, I was wondering what the procedure is for switching schools. I would love to take Social Work but right now I'm thinking that I might like to minor there and then major in the College of Arts & Sciences. Is it easy to switch?

I'm totally confused about how this is going to work if I will be enrolled in the Silver School but want to switch out...

i read on the site that it’s next to impossible to switch schools because they don’t want people coming into cas and then trying to switch to stern, which obviously has different criteria. but you can probably still do cross-courses! i’m going to cas and i’m going to minor at stern since they have a joint program with cas. look around on the site and see what you can find :)

You can apply to transfer after a full semester in the school you applied to, at which point whether you’re accepted or rejected you’d finish the year in the school you applied to and go to the new one the next year. I was put in LSP tracked for CAS and at the end of 1st semester applied to Tisch for film. I got in, so I’m finishing this year and starting Tisch in the fall. It wasn’t a difficult process at all and I think they give priority to internal transfers.
