Is it common for students to bring their swords to college?

only if you plan on crossing them

Do NOT bring a sword. They are very much banned in every university I know of and if you bring it anyway you could get in big trouble.

I have several friends (in dorms) who have them. Check your university's policy (and how the policy is enforced).

I'm leaving my sword at home, but I'm planning on bringing my +2 staff of malice.

lol @ ABCB

Anyone else get a Napolean Dynamite vibe from this guy?

For the love of God, don't violate any weapon violations on a college campus...

what uni you going to? I'm gonna try and avoid you...

His location says Ann Arbor.

omg I'm going to UMICH... ahhhhh

When I visited colleges this spring, I met a guy who had swords in his dorm room. I wouldn't suggest it, though, as you could almost certainly be kicked out if you were caught. :D

Yea, I wasn't actually serious (I really do have a samuri sword but I'm not actualy considering bringing it to school) and I don't go to UM.

a few people brought their lightsabers...not kidding. a group of 5 guys reenacted the final battle in from the Phantom Menace in which Qui-gon-jin (dont know how to spell his name) fights Darth Maul...its was actually really well done

Don't bring your metal swords. Your wooden practice swords are fine though.

wat about knives/bayonets?

both are no-no's, but I know some people who brought knives. One roommate asked him to take it back home, which he did, but others have had roommates that just dont care
