Syracuse University Regular Decision 2019

Are they sending out decisions today? I thought it was only on Fridays…

@amor8797 FYI Myself and five friends received acceptances yesterday. All submitted our apps at the end of October. I have a few friends who submitted late December who did not receive a response yet. I hope that helps and good luck to you

I sent my app in mid-October and still have yet to hear back!!

Hey guys! My sister was just accepted into Whitman with a Chancellor’s Scholarship. I was wondering if any other people have received a scholarship but haven’t heard about the need-based grants yet? My family makes around 80K a year and will have two kids in college (I got to Vanderbilt), so she should still qualify, right? Any info you guys have would be great.

Congrats to everyone who got in! And to those still waiting, everything will work out in the end!

@CaptTShannan i believe it came out the day of! If she received no email she can try clicking the finanial aid tab on her mystic and it probably will pop up!

@Scp2015‌ which major did you get into?

Is it likely that people who haven’t found out yet got rejected?

@CaptTShannan‌…Son received same chancellor scholarship with $28k need grant. Will still have to pay $25+ per year. 2 kids in college, one already at Syracuse and roughly same income as you. Hope this helped.

I’ve just made a results thread! Feel free to post your stats and decisions in there!

If we didn’t hear anything yet… does that mean we’re rejected?

I didn’t hear anything till now either. Are there any rejection letters given normally? I think I would easily get accepted.

@kidacat please don’t worry. If you look in past years, they started around the third Friday in March and went thru until the next two Fridays. Many still received scholarships late in the game. Hang in there!

@mtbd1996‌ I got into the information school instead of Newhouse because it looked like it had the communications programs outside of Newhouse but I think I may have been misinformed when I filled out the application. I also thought I had Whitman down as my second choice (marketing’s my intended major) but I guess I had as my third choice accidentally… Anyone have any idea what the process is to switch into a different program within Syracuse?

If I haven’t been notified does that mean I’m not accepted?

Also, which schools are the easiest to get into?

@Scp2015‌ ah I see. There is information on switching into a different college (some more competitive than others). If you are planning on switching into Newhouse just know that it is really competitive. At an info session someone asked about switching into Newhouse and was told that it was very very difficult to get a spot afterwards. As for Whitman I am not sure. Is there a specific college you are looking into? I can find the information about switching for you if you’d like!

@emcollins‌ If you have not been notified it does not mean you were not accepted. They will continue to send out waves until early April. As for the “easy schools” I frankly do not believe there are any easy ones. However, as many people know, Newhouse and Whitman are known to be very competitive. But I don’t know much about the other colleges. Best of luck!

Does anyone know if we will be notified on any day of the week or only on Fridays?

^^^

@connerc13‌ and @BostonSportsFan‌ i think it will be friday tbh looking at past RD threads. But some people think it could be like ED where it started on a friday and continued from monday on

Accepted RD with Founder’s Scholarship ($12,000/year)! 2160 SAT and 3.7 unweighted GPA. I got an email at 2:55 pm on Friday March 20th about my accepteance and one at 4:35 pm later that day about the scholarship. Good luck to everyone still waiting!
