Hey, right now I'm at a CCC right now, and I had a question about TAG. I was looking at tagging to UCSC but it looks like I'd need 30 units to tag, and I'd only have 29 by Fall of 2013. Are they lenient about that one unit (if I show them that I plan to take 31 units during the year) or are they stringent about that?

Thank you! c:

With so many people applying for TAG, the 30 unit requirement is strict. You will likely get your TAG denied without 30 units.

Sent from my SGH-T999 using CC

The 30 unit requirement is strict, have you thought about/included taking classes over the summer?

I think the units can be in progress.

They cannot be in progress. You must have 30 UC transferable units when you apply for TAG at UCSC.

You MUST have a minimum of 30 completely finished in order to TAG to any school.

If you’d really like to TAG then you could take a summer course maybe something really simple online.

Good luck.

Have there been any instances in which anyone has slid by recently with only 29 units? Haha, yeah…

As for summer classes, that counts 3 (planned) summer classes.

Thank you guys! I figured it was a far shot but I thought I’d ask anyways.

I emailed UCSC and they said the units can be in progress.

Ucsc tag states that 30 units must be completed before fall when you submit your app

I’d like to see the email.

Pic or it didn’t happen :)

@Xfer - Haha!

@Everyone else - Well I stand corrected. My apologize.

That email contradicts the TAG matrix. They should update it.

Admissions may have said that but I doubt that they will abide by it. There are previous threads where people have been rejected for falling under the unit count. Sorry to be a Debbi Downer :C

Take a PE class during the summer or something then!
