It’s never to early to start thinking about Bama tailgating, is it?

We (husband, myself, son, both sets of grands) are coming from TX to attend the A&M game weekend. Do you have to obtain a tailgate pass in order to set up a small grill and chairs? No big tent or long tables, just a family group grilling out.

Also, if we aren’t staying on campus, where is the best place to park or buy parking passes?

Thanks!!

You’ll likely park on the soccer fields which are near the Student Health Center. Just show up, pay $20, and park. Then the Crimson Ride picks you up and takes you to the Quad.

I don’t think you can tailgate ON the quad without a paid permit, but you can tailgate where you park your car…many people set up chairs, BBQ, etc, where they park…eat…and then head to the quad or stadium.

One doesn’t need a permit to tailgate on non-reserved areas of the quad, but will need to abide by rules regarding setup/cleanup times and power usage. Gameday parking can be found in many of UA’s commuter and other nearby parking lots, including some grass fields. Free parking is available at the Downtown Intermodal Facility (parking garage and city bus/trolley station), which is actually a shorter distance to Bryant-Denny than many of the UA lots. Buses, which may have a $1 per person charge, are also available from this facility.
