Okay, I'm signed up to take the math II subject test on saturday. I have not been able to study very much and am thinking about not taking it.

On my UC application I said I was planning to take it, so will it affect my admission if I end up not taking the test? I already have taken US history and Biology E and did really well on those two, but I am applying as a Computer science major, so I thought the math II might be helpful...

Any help is appreciated!

It really isn’t that hard. I’m not in advanced math (I’m in Pre-calc as a senior, behind most students at my school). I ended up with a 770 and did no studying, plus I had a huge migraine the entire test. I have average grades and got 670 in math on SAT 1. What did you get on the SAT I math? If you did better than me you should be good just sleep early. I don’t think it is worth it not to skip since you put it on your application. They don’t trick you and give you all the formulas so it is pretty straightforward.

okay well I got a 630 on the math on SAT I. Interesting that you said it was fairly easy when a lot of people I know in more advanced classes said it was pretty hard.
Good job!

yeah i’m kind of in the same situation. i’m signed up to take the test this saturday but i don’t feel like i’m ready. i have barron’s and took the practice tests but got 740,730,720,660. <- those scores are in order and have been going down… i have no idea why. so idk if im gonna take it either…

if on barrons u got 700+ so many times i guarantee u an 800, dont cancel

Dude, a 700+ on Barron’s practice tests pretty much guarantees an 800.

hey brett837, i’m sitting for the subject tests this saturday and i too applied as a computer science major to berkeley! i have not taken the test yet. what i heard from my seniors is that the syllabus of math 2 is more than math 1, so u have to study more. however, they also say that it’s easier to score 800 in math 2 than in math 1.

okay thanks for the help everyone.

If I was to do a lot worse on the math II than my other two subject tests I’ve already taken, do I HAVE to send the scores? (Because on my UC app I said december math II was planned)
