Is it possible for a Letters and Science student to take 21 units if I submit a petition or something? It's because I might have URAP credit.

You can do almost anything by petitioning at Berkeley.

Short answer: you can, but why?

i know a couple of my friends that are taking that much. it's very possible, especially as in your case, if some of your units are not coming from classes.

Just petition. They'll let you.

yes, they will let you IF your past grades look pretty good

I wonder if you even need to petition. As far as I know, Telebears should let you sign up for that many units anyway.

Telebears lets you sign up for 20.5.

for some reason telebears had let me sign up for 21 units...
maybe there's no cap for engineering students?

Perhaps you can sign up over 20.5 if some of those are waitlisted units... because I signed up for over the limit, but once I started getting off waitlists they wouldn't let me add and I had to petition my major advisor. I'm in L+S though, so I don't know if it's different in other colleges.

for telebears, you can go over the cap if the last class you add bumps you over it

Yes, it should allow you to sign up for 21, though probably not 22. (the madness has to end somewhere right?) lol. Good luck with the schedule. I did a 19 unit semester followed by a 20 unit semester and it was quite tough but manageable. The key is to keep on top of things and start very early once you know when an assignment is due.

Bingo. From my experience, that's what happens. So if you have 20 units, you can still sign up for another 4-unit class and have 24 units. As far as I know, the college doesn't do anything about it. But, if you want to add another class after that, you'll need to petition.
