Taking LESS courses next semester?

How bad will it look for me to lighten up on the courseload? I'm taking 18 credit hours including an upper-level literature class, and I'm PRESSED. I would have taken less this semester, but my counselor gave misinformation that forced me to take the lit class and now it's too late to drop without having a W on my transcript.

If I took one less course next semester, I'd drop from 18 to 14(15?) hours.

Technically, I have 17 this semester, but my freshman seminar class counts as 1 hour.

bump …

Bump, please. I’m losing sleep every day and I’d like to make it up next semester

I’m not sure what you mean by “will it look bad”? To whom? At the end all that will matter is that you complete all the requirements and do the best you can. To stress yourself will most likely lead to lower grades- that will look bad. Maybe you can map out your four years making sure everything fits and/or take a course or two in the summer. I think less courses is the way for you to go. Pressed, stressed, and sleepless is not! Good luck!

^I mean how bad will it look to transfer adcoms. I don’t plan on staying for all 4 years

I took 17 credits my first semester of freshman year and then 14 credits or 13 the semester after that and I got into my school. I feel like as long as you get credits that you KNOW will deff transfer into your new school you should be fine!

^^^agree! As long as you get all the requirements you need to transfer don’t worry about how many at a time…the grades will be more important.

Thanks guys! That’s a big relief. All of my classes SHOULD be able to transfer since they’re all core, liberal arts classes
