TAMU Fall 2015 Transfer for Sociology

I am currently attending Lone Star College. I have a GPA of 2.7. These are the classes I have taken already:

  1. US History - D
  2. Math 0308 (Introduction to Algebra): B
  3. US Government: C
  4. Sociology: B
  5. English 1301: B
  6. Math 0310 (Intermediate Algebra): B
  7. Learning Framework (College Success Class): A

I will be taking the following classes in the spring:

  1. English 1302
  2. Psychology
  3. US History II
  4. College Algebra

All of the classes are 3 hour courses. I put my first choice major as sociology and the second choice major as women’s and gender studies. I have been in contact with the recruiter for the sociology department for a few months now. What are my chances of getting in? There are no prerequisites for both of those majors.

I forgot to add that I am taking Texas Government right now as a minimester.

I would try your best to get all A’s if possible for this spring semester. That will bump your GPA up above a 3 and then your chances would be pretty good I think. They will probably want to see your spring grades before they make a decision. Best of luck to you!
