Tanner Dean's Scholar

I received what I guess is a likely letter from Cornell today, and it mentioned entry into the Tanner Dean’s Scholars program. What exactly is this program, and how selective is it? The letter mentioned roughly 40 are chosen per class, but I know several friends who also received the same letter; I’d like to know if this really is a selective program that would raise Cornell on my list, or just something that every student receives.

Congratulations! There is a website with a description of the program. It is a selective program, you must have several smart friends. Look at the program and make your own call on whether this is something that should raise Cornell on your list. The nice thing is that the school has now told you they really want you to attend and think highly of you. It is now your choice on whether you really want to attend the school. It sounds like you will have other great choices. Congratulations again.

It is a very prestigious program and you should be very proud! Congrats!

@ireallylikemaps I’m in too, and there appears to be an FB group. PM me who you are and maybe we can chat more there.

I just got the letter as well! Can someone add me to the fb group??

Anyone know if this is similar to Columbia’s Rabi Scholar program and also differences in benefits/prestige wise?
