Tappan Scholarship? (OOS)

Hey everyone! I was admitted OOS last month. I checked my Portal and noticed that I had the Tappan Scholarship for 25k/year on my Financial Aid page. The only information I found on the website was that it was for “selected non-resident students”. I didn’t even apply for it.
Does anyone have any additional information? Like what the requirements were for the scholarship etc. And did anyone else receive it?

I didn’t recieve the Tappan Scholarship but I did recieve the Presidential Scholarship (OOS). As far as I know, you are automatically considered for everything from your application. What were your stats? And did you submit CSS?

Congrats on that! How much aid is the presidential scholarship? I did submit the CSS and my stats aren’t exceptional for UM

It’s 15k and I got another worth 5k

I also got the Tappan Scholarship for $25K! I think it’s because UMich sent me a letter saying that they’d cover full tuition for the first year and half tuition for subsequent years with a combination of grants and scholarships.

I also got the Tappan Scholarship for $25K! Combined with my low EFC, I think I don’t have to pay anything–they gave me grants up to the $57K sticker price.

I’m OOS and also got the Tappan scholarship. I’m just wondering if it’s renewable (like, it doesn’t last for just one year)?

Ahh congratulations everyone! this is gonna be really helpful in paying for OOS. I hope to find out more about it soon, fingers crossed for it being renewable four years!

Tappan, Presidential, and Fairfax are all renewable for four years. Engineering students may even get an extra semester or two because of the higher number of credits needed to graduate.
