@btsarmy123 i changed a few names just to be safe
ok thanks!
What types of text are you guys do for question 2? Like book, poem, song, etc? I’m doing a song
@Anonymousia I’m doing a song
Just submitted! im nervous that i messed something up, but it was extremely satisfying reviewing all the completed work. Even if i dont get in, I am glad that I had the practice of writing essays, it will help me with future college apps! Thank you to everyone on this thread best of luck to you all!!
Do any of you guys know how important our responses to the short answers are?
I did a movie.
They’re definitely not even half as important as our essays are, but one of the short answers is just to help them determine which seminar to put you in if accepted.
my first essay is only 1K words and im feeling kinda wonky about that, ugh
@memeqween101 I think that’s fine! It’s halfway and it’s more the content that matters than the length. A well written essay that’s 600 words is more likely to get in than a poorly written one that’s 1400 words
I accidentally quoted Song of Myself in my first essay before realizing that the same quote was in the Poetry and Identity description… I can’t seem to find another quote that would work and my entire last paragraph is kind of based on the idea of multitudes and contradictions. Anyone have any ideas on whether I should change the quote or not?
@alrob29 i would go with it! especially if you’re confident about that paragraph.
Submitted! I can finally study for my midterms now lol.
How’s everyone feeling?
Sometimes I feel optimistic but then I realize that they accept 3 out of 100 people and my soul weeps a bit after spending so long on my essays lmao
What’s everyone’s back up plans?
Does anyone know of any other humanities summer programs?
Most other ones are just taking classes at prestigious colleges for an insane amount of money…
I pretty much have no back up, at least in terms of other summer programs. If I don’t get in (which is the most likely scenario) I’ll probably just focus more on my internship and maybe take a class at my local community college.
Has anybody else here studied abroad in Japan before? Just curious.
@UesugiKenshin no, but hopefully next year with HSD japan! have u?
