TCNJ Dorms

hey. im going to tcnj this fall. um so i had a question about the dorms. i heard cromwell is the best dorm to go to but thats majorly for the honors students. im not an honors student, but is it possible that i can actually dorm at cromwell?

and how much power do we have into deciding where we dorm? some other guy from tcnj told me to submit dorm papers at the very end (near deadline) b/c then they'll resort u to better dorms? plz inform me as much as possible on dorms if u kno! thanks so much =)

Cromwell has its ups and downs as does Travers/Wolfe. Cromwell is suite style with 3 rooms (6 people) sharing one bathroom. TW has community bathrooms like most college dorms. Cromwell's rooms are smaller and there is less camaraderie there. When I was a freshman (2005), I lived in Cromwell on the honors floor (just one floor) and I was not in the honors program. So yes there is a good chance of still living in Cromwell even if you are not an honors student.

The bathroom situation is actually quite comparable in both choices. I lived in Cromwell as a freshman and a dorm with communal bathrooms as a sophomore, and both years were fine. I have never had to wait to use the shower or anything in either residence. The only difference is you have to clean your own bathroom in Cromwell while a cleaning service takes care of TW.

I don't think you have any input as to which dorm you live in. Your are placed in your dorm based on the FSP you choose so it has nothing to do with when you submit your information.

thanks so much!

Why would you want to dorm in Cromwell? Do you want to move out of your house into a dumpster? No? Then hope for TW.

You'll also get to know your floormates way better with a community bathroom since everyone has to use it. One of the best social places.

hahahaha true. i guess i'll make my first friend at tcnj in a bathroom stall. creepy, but woo hoo loll

Yeah you don't want Crom. It's also used for transfer students so some of the people are a few years older than you.

TW is the true TCNJ freshman experience. Most people start friendships with their TW floor mates which last all 4 years at TCNJ.
