Got this email. Think it could be a good sign? (And yes, I’m uploading that doc, now!)

We have reviewed your transitional grants and loans application and supporting documents but will need more information before we are able to give you an award offer. Please see the notes below for the specific documents or information we need to complete your application.

Please send: As you did not file taxes last year, we cannot verify if you are dependent or independent. Please submit a signed statement explaining that you are independent (cannot be claimed as a dependent), that you did not file taxes last year, list the number of dependents you claim (if any), and include income earned (if any). Alternatively, if you were claimed as a dependent, please provide a copy of that 2012 federal tax return.

To complete your application, please login to your transitional funding status page on the Applicant Center. From this page you can view the supporting documents that we’ve received and upload additional documents. Please make sure to submit your required supporting document(s) by April 10, 2014 in order for us to be able to offer you an award package.

@msmatt The application process is similar and they admit about 12% to 14% of applicants. You apply online with a resume, essay questions, etc. If selected, you are passed through to a phone interview. The phone interview was almost entirely situational, role plays, etc. No in-person interview. Big differences are no transitional funding and no guarantee of a job. Also, they do not provide room and board during the 5-week training. They were also super quick to respond to me. I only had to wait 3 days to find out about the phone interview and then only about a week to get my final answer. In general, I may have chosen TNTP but the TF and room and board during institute make a big difference financially.

@FunnyGirl In my CC board stalking, every time I have seen someone get that letter, they have been admitted, so I think it’s looking good for you :)

I interviewed in NYC on the 24th. I know this answer is going to drive some people crazy, but I uploaded my TF docs on the night of the 28th. I’m thinking it must have a lot to do with interview date, so sit tight everyone!

@FunnyGirl, lol yes that does make me a little nervous because I also interviewed on the 24th. But, different region. @Everyone from stalking this thread I’ve seen that quite a few applicants got admitted whose TF status didn’t change until notification day. And some people’s documents were verified very early on and they were rejected. So lets keep praying and keeping our fingers crossed! :)

When you guys talk about under review, are you asking if it went to complete, or if documents were verified? I think it is a little early for “under review” to go to complete. Right now it’s just document verification. Just a thought!

I have interviewed with Detroit on Feb. 24 and completed TF on Feb 21 and nothing has been verified. It still says under review. I am noticing that a lot of other cities are moving a lot faster. Detroit is a high priority area. Is there anyone else on this forum who applied for Detroit and if so when did you interview and submit TF documents. Well I guess all in all, we will definitely know by Mar. 13 for sure if accepted and how much TF we will receive.

I submitted all my documents on the 21st of February and had my interview the 24th. I got an e-mail from them on this past Monday saying my file was incomplete/insufficient proof, so I submitted more and the next day they e-mailed me back saying I still needed to send more proof/fix an error I had made on my application. They said I had until April 10th to fix it. Everything else on my TF application says “YES” minus the loans/grant part.

I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I’m not sure if they would go through all the trouble to get my documentation if I wasn’t in? :s

@Stressy, you might be right. What area did you interview? I have submitted my the same day you did and I interviewed on Feb. 24 in Detroit. I guess it goes by how fast the regions process the paperwork.

Honestly, I just took a look at the 3DL’s details on notification day and TF status seems irrelevant… There were multiple people whose status didn’t change at all and were accepted and there were multiple people whose status changed to “complete” and ended up being rejected. I definitely wouldn’t stress TF status at all…the ONE trend that seemed constant is the fact that everyone who was accepted saw “under review” AND “complete” on notification day (probably TF staff double checking everything). THATS about it. So we should all probably not look for any trends because there seems to be none…just breathe and wait until next Thursday

Also, my interviewer told us “there is no set number…if you have what it takes you’re getting in.” So…that kind of helps while replaying the interview over in your head…I guess? Lol I don’t know just sharing that with you guys…

Hello everyone! I have a Yes for my TF documents but it still says Under Review. I uploaded my documents on Feb 15th and interviewed on the 26th

Okay so now my documents are verified (they all say yes under the tab documents verified) but my status still says under review…what does that meaaaaan lol

My TF status is still “Under Review” and none of my documents are verified. I submitted my documents on 13 Feb and interviewed on the 25th in Michigan. Trying not to think too much about it since previous rounds haven’t really shown TF status to be a consistent sign of acceptance.

Can anyone ease my mind? I looked at the 2013 corps TF posts and it looks like it correlates to the decision of being accepted if its get complete. I have yet to have anything be verified. Interview and submitted my information on Feb 26th.

@Afradett, I wouldn’t read too much into it. As others have said, sometimes those who were admitted saw only last-minute updates on the TF status. Some who saw “complete” the whole time before notification day were even later rejected.
