@sarabea126 Alabama was 4th in my Highly Preferred. According to my regional reps, once the committee decides who all is accepted, the region picks who they would like to have as a corps member in their region. So just remember, if you are accepted, you were placed in your region for a reason.

And for those who recently interviewed, I’m sure mostly everyone wishes they could go back to their interview and think of one or more things they could have said. Just be confident in what you did say. I promise you, you probably did alot better than you think you did. Sometimes we tend to judge ourselves more than we should. Haha. Good Luck and keep us updated!

For the third deadline, is the notification day January 7th or 9th? I’ve seen both days posted and even yesterday in a TFA admissions help email, they responded saying log on after the 7th to see admission decisions.

Well, they granted me the early notification so I should know on the 16th of December…now I’m trying not to think crazy things like “that is good because they want me to consider an offer from them” followed by “that is not good because they don’t want me to pass up my other offer and them not offer me a spot.” Let the insanity begin.

I was granted early notification too. Regardless of the decision I am glad I will at least be able to know all of my options before making a decision!

It has actually made me more anxious…I think everything went well, but know how difficult it is to get a placement, so I honestly have no idea what way it will go.

Did anyone else put Special Education as a highly preferred subject? That’s what I’m hoping for - at the elementary or middle school level.

The verdict, more or less, was that if it ever changed to Complete you got in, and if it didn’t, you did not. People changed to complete all the way up to the day of.

I have special education as a highly preferred subject as well, but I have it at the secondary or middle levels. I was wondering what kind of placements SPED corps members usually have since there are so many different types of SPED teaching like inclusion teachers, resource rooms, mild, moderate, intensive, all of that. But I suppose it probably depends on the district and the schools needs and the licensing test that you test for. I also put down English and Social Studies as highly preferred subjects.

I applied and i’m waiting on the big answer now. I’m going crazy and i wish they would just tell us. I’m super worried b/c one of my people didnt complete the recommendation form. has this happen to anyone b4? does that ruin my chances?

I’m hoping to be placed in Greensboro NC. Any others out here for NC?

Pastaholic - you make a good point about SPED placements being potentially diverse. I hope to be in a resource or inclusion classroom if I am placed with TFA. I have experience with ED as well, but would rather not go down that road unless it was with a program that was very focused on reentry into general ed.

EDUforALL - my student loan info didn’t have my name on it. I submitted a different form of the document WITH my name last night and my status has changed to complete as of this afternoon (trying not to read into this).

@spedteacher84 Hopefully that is good news for you that your TF status changed to complete. Mine has yet to change so I’m trying to be patient and not check my status every 5 minutes, but it’s very nerve racking!

@spedteacher84 it’s ok. I was actually waiting for someone to post that their status had changed, just so I could have more of a rationale for refreshing my TF Status page every 10 minutes.
Anyway, congrats. Were you one of the people who requested early notification?

Has anyone received the survey from TFA regarding the final interview yet? I was told in my final interview last Tuesday that I would receive a survey about the final interview process shortly after my interview, but I never received one so I was just curious if anyone else received the survey yet?
