Teach For America 2014 Corps

I interviewed on 12/4. My top regions are Baltimore, DC, and Philadelphia. I want to teach HS English or Science/Biology.

I’m staying OFF of TFA’s website until the 9th!! I refuse to be stressed out while waiting LOL… It seems sooooooooooooo far away though :(

I was trying not to check my TF status today after checking every 10 minutes yesterday. I just gave in and checked and my TF status now says complete with a yes by checking/savings and tax return documentation. Hoping this is good news.

My top regions are DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Colorado, New Jersey and Boston.

TF is “Complete” for me…Is it just me or is it way too early? Only two people that had an early “Complete” earlier in the thread were denied…

I was watching for my TF status to change because I was granted early notification because I had an offer from TNTP so I will actually find out on Monday. I don’t know when applicants from previous deadlines started seeing changes to their TF status, but it wouldn’t surprise me if TF status changes begin earlier for the 3DL because of the holidays.

Good luck man, at least no anxiety for the holidays.

Thanks! I am glad I will know before the holidays, but it has made this week very nerve racking.

I’ve only been on here about a week and I’m interested in everyone -

What subjects/regions is everyone hoping for?
Are you graduating from school in May or are you a career changer?
Major/industry coming from?

I know what you mean TFAHopeful29! Longest week ever…

@spedteacher84 I preferenced ECE/elementary subjects and my top regions are Central Florida, San Diego, Alabama, and Philly. I’m graduating with my masters in May from Communications, what about you??

I highly preferenced elementary ed, ESL, and Middle & HS Math. I am a career changer from the non profit/public policy sector.

I preferences Elementary/middle school special education, elementary, or middle school generalist. I am currently working as a teaching assistant in an elementary resource classroom and taking classes towards my MAT in Special Ed. Before that I was at NC State working on a Ph.D. Until I decided I like working with children more than adults

I am really hoping for a placement in Southern Louisiana or NOLA, but also listed San Antonio, and Houston as highly preferred. I need to be some place warm!

For the subjects, I highly preferred special education, secondary social studies, and language arts and I also listed ESL and middle school for a preference as well. I highly preferred a bunch of different regions including Chicago, Indy, Pittsburgh, DC, Cleveland, Philly, Detroit, and Baltimore. I just want to be in an urban setting in the Midwest so I can be around friends and family.

I just completed undergrad a couple of years ago where I majored in education. I received a Fulbright grant that I just wrapped up this past summer and presently I am working in residential life.

The selection committee requested another official copy of my transcript yesterday and my transitional funding just went from under review to complete, fingers crossed this means good news!

My highest regions were Appalachia (hometown), Memphis, and Jacksonville. I’m hoping to teach either ECE, elementary, or special ed. (I’m an elem ed major graduating in May)

Is everyone (still in school) finished for the semester? It’s going to be a long break with being anxious for the results!

So since my transcripts were submitted through an etranscript option, every time someone looks at them I get an email…I forgot I looked at my transcript this morning, saw the email, and got so excited! Now that I know this I’m going to be waiting for the tracker email all month! Safe to say if they never check my transcripts than I probably didn’t get it right??

Hey guys! Just joined a few days ago, but have been creeping for a while. I had my final interview on Dec. 6th.

Hoping to teach SPED in New Orleans!
Graduating in May and majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Pre-Speech Language Pathology/Audiology)

I saw a few others who were hoping for the same subject/placement. Hope you all get it as well!!

What subjects/regions is everyone hoping for?
ECE or Elementary. Colorado, Nashville, Chicago, Baltimore, and Milwaukee were in my Highly Preferred.

Are you graduating from school in May or are you a career changer?
I will have my Masters in Education this May.

Major/industry coming from?
My bachelors degree is in Elementary Education.

I won’t find out until Jan. 9 but I’ve been stalking my TF status page.

I just an email asking for supporting documentation for TF…

I’m hoping to teach in the South–my top regions are Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville. I want ECE, Elementary or Middle School science/math.

I’m graduating this May with a degree in Sociology, hoping to go to law school after TFA. :)

@StressedGrad About what? Did you submit all the docs before or have you not submitted anything?

I’m nervous, my TF still says under review but I have a yes next to each of my categories. I have to keep reminding myself that no matter what I do, their decision will not change, I’m either already in or I’m already rejected…This is going to be a long three and a half weeks.

My Hp were Philly, Jersey, Baltimore and DC. After that I kind of just went up and down the East coast. My Hp subjects were math and English and middle school generalist. I also prefered ECE, but not highly prefered.

I graduate in May with a degree in Philosophy and English and I do plan to go to Law school eventually.
