Does anyone have anything in the notes section? I don’t.

The notes section is just to update you on No’s . . . Basically tells you what you need to do in order to get it fixed. I had two Yes’s and a No with the note section explaining what I needed to do to fix the No. I submitted another form and it updated the next day to N/A with the note section blank afterwords. I’m hoping that the quick update of the forms and the response on their end is a good sign, considering I submitted it just recently. :)

Brilliant! Thanks andrewcycs

Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking here for the past few hours & I should be asleep! Anyway, I applied in the 3DL & went straight to a final interview. I’m a tiny bit nervous & very excited. I don’t know if those who went straight to a final interview are at a disadvantage or not. I just can’t wait until Thursday!

Just a couple days away now everyone!

I’m excited, but at the same time I feel like I want to vomit… anyone else?

None of my documents have been verified, but I’m still holding out hope that they will be in the next couple of days. I saw a couple of cases from the last deadline where people had their forms verified right up until the last minute. And if not, my experience will certainly testify to the fact that document verification and acceptance are correlated. My favorite professor always tells me “He puts us where he needs us,” so I’m excited about what the next few days will bring for all of us.

I think we should bring back the survey the 1D & 2D kids had so we can keep track of who is accepted/ denied, and hopefully help future TFA applicants with TF patterns & such
I know past threads have been very helpful for me. We’ll all see soon. Fingers crossed for all of you!

I have another question:

For those who did not apply for TF & /or were put straight thru to a final interview, how are you feeling right now? We don’t have any of that TF stuff to base anything off of. Is there a less likelihood those who were ‘pushed’ through to get accepted? I’ve read some comments but there are so many pages! Lol

Any advice? My nerves are starting to get to me, at this point in the game. I bet the decisions were already made prior to Christmas. I wish we would have known then. This extra holiday week is killing me!

If applying for TF has any affect on being accepted or rejected I’d be very disappointed in TFA. I’ve got a full scholarship to my University and my parents told me not to worry about TF because I could use unused college fund money and avoid going into debt, so I didn’t bother applying for TF. Still says “Not Started” next to my TF section.

Obviously I’ll probably never know, but if that ends up affecting my eventual acceptance/denial I’d be unbelievably disappointed in the organization.

Ok. Great point! Poster above me re: TF (requesting it or not).

I’m curious about the TF paperwork others submitted. I saw some people said they posted several documents for TF and got up to 3 yes. I only uploaded one document. I’m curious to know what documents people uploaded. Not trying to get too noisy

@tnbaileyTFA The TFA paperwork I was asked to submit was:

1) A copy of the first four ( pages of your parent(s)/guardian(s) most recent tax return
OR A copy of this year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Student Aid Report (SAR) for 2013/2014 school year

2)Documentation verifying current amount of Federal Student Loans

3)Documentation verifying undergrad Pell Grant

My status currently says under review and no document is said to have been verified which makes me incredibly nervous :/

can’t sleep too much on the mind
is it thursday yet ? I should just let go and let God.

@thenaturalista I wouldn’t worry about those factors at all. The option to apply for TF before a decision is only there to provide accepted applicants as much information as they can before they decide whether or not they will accept their offer. When I applied at the 2nd deadline, I knew I wanted TF but I knew my accepting of my offer would not be contingent on my regional placement. So please don’t sweat over that. It is merely an option for people to do it early.

I think people who got sent straight through should feel good about their chances. Being sent straight through means TFA feels you look good enough on paper to be a good fit for the organization. They just want to see what you are like in person to make a better determination. For those who did a phone interview, I think it just shows that they wanted more information about you before they make a decision. In my opinion, you should feel confident if you feel you made a good impression on your interviewer during the final interview. So breathe! You are on the home stretch!

I didnt mind the phone interview at all. True, I was disappointed I didnt get a pass onto the final round…but in the end I ended up benefiting from it as it prepared me for the final interview.

and ugh, this waiting!!!

Passed the spanish exam. We shall see what happens.

Its confusing to me that for some of us our documents have been verified with “YES” marked by the documents yet our status “Under Review” clearly states that “We have not yet reviewed your application or documents.” This seems contradictory…

Can it be Thursday yet?!?!

There’s a piece written on the TFA Admissions Blogspot addressing whether or not one gets accepted or rejected at 8 pm (I’d thought it was 6 pm!) on Thurs. 1/9, in case anyone has missed this. Not sure how relevant it is. It is interesting how they want this to be a positive experience for all applicants and underscores how serious an advocacy group they are. They clearly do the right thing re: perpetuating their mission and their “people skills,” which essentially means eternal marketing, even to those rejected. It is an upbeat article, which I would expect from TFA.

My three documents were my tax return, my student loan debt, and my credit card debt. I didn’t notice when the yeses came. Congratulations Bahama32!
Two days more! My landlord wants I know if I’m renewing my lease. I said I might be able to tell him after Thursday.

@thenaturalista i was put straight to the final interview, but i did apply for TF. im feeling alright to to be honest, but nothing is assured in this game. I believe everyone else in my interview had a phone interview. I kind of had to scope out the environment and see what everything was like. I chose to do my lesson plan last so that it could be more memorable specifically since everyone else had the phone interview. I did this because TFA knew something about everyone else other than the application which we all submitted in October. They had at least some kind of impression and meanwhile, this was my very first. Therefore, I decided to go last, try my best to nail my lesson plan and leave them with something they could remember. Based on the questions I got in my final interview, it seemed to have worked. Yet, there are no assurances in this process. I keep looking at my TF status, nothing has changed. Still Under Review and still have the three verified.

I got early decision and was accepted. My TF status says under review still. Try not to let it stress you out!
