After careful consideration and talking to my spouse, I will be applying for next year also. Like @TFA5thDL2015 I won’t be applying until 1) I have more teaching experience on my resume 2) I know where my spouse will be placed in medical school. I will email you @TFA5thDL2015 !! we can go through this tough process again.
Of course @TFA5thDL2015! Be expecting an email from me today!
Has anyone gotten the link for TFAnet yet? I can log in, but none of my pre-work is available and I’d really like to get the jump on it.
I haven’t even been able to log in to TFAnet yet
They said they were supposed to send a link within three hours and I never got it, but I went to TFAnet and just entered in the same email and password you use for the applicant center, and it let me in, I can see some of my pre-work, but the links don’t work properly. I’m a little excited, and really wanted to start my pre-work.

Thank you all very much for willing to stay in contact.
It must be very exciting to be in contact with your regions now. A year from now, I hope to be all in your position and learn from your awesome experiences!

I haven’t posted on CC since I was in high school applying early decision to Brown University. So blessed to be going to Providence. I was worried I wouldn’t get in after reading this thread but it all worked out!!
I just signed up for a study course for the TexEs Science 7-12 exam. Anyone else start preparing already?
Is it an online course or local, I’ve pulled my old school books, as well as went to the library and gathered some but a study course would be excellent. I have to take the same exam
Its an online course offered by region 13 of the Texas Education Center. Its pricey but I have no background in science so I think it’s my best hope of passing the test.
I have started to study for the Praxis ii world language Spanish. Someone from my region is calling this weekend to give advice on how best to study… kinda nervous about only having a month to prepare though!..
I just got into my TFA. net but it doesn’t show me anything new about my institute or region. Anyone else in the same boat at me? I’m a “founding father”- I’m in Orlando’s first Core so there’s not really any dates or locations being provided for summer…
When I try to click on the “ongoing: next steps” link on tfanet it doesn’t allow me to log in and see the information there. Does anyone else have this problem? Also, I haven’t heard anything from my region yet. No calls or emails. Is this normal?
I got a call on Thursday from my regional contact and he said he would call back on Monday. I think they are supposed to be reaching out already, but it may depend on your region. I’m in Dallas/FW
I still can’t access tfanet. I keep getting a redirect loop and it says their may be a problem with the server
I haven’t had any contact with my region yet either. I can see my onboarding instructions, but can’t complete them because my cornerstone isn’t available.
I’ve been contacted by a cohort leader here in Hawaii and can get on to tfanet.org.
Can you begin your pre-work chelle? We have a website called cornerstone where some of our training is supposed to be located, but when I log in it says no training available. I’m probably just excited to get started and should exercise some patience.
Hey! I am a junior in college trying to become a 2016 TFA member but I have applied through the early deadline so I will be notified in May if I will be accepted for next summer. I am excited that I have moved on to the final interview. I am honestly completely shocked (I wasn’t sure how my phone interview went) and so overwhelmed with all the things to do. If anyone would want help me preparing for the final interview I would greatly appreciate! Thanks
Hi @501528, welcome and congrats on your invitation to a final interview. It seems like a few of us are really busy now, with our pre-work, but I’ve got time to answer you. For the final interview: RELAX, RELAX, that’s so important. I practiced giving my lesson in 4 minutes instead of five, which helped me not feel so rushed when I was actually there. You only have one minute for set-up, so if you have handouts or supplies, have the other participants pass them around the table for you, while you write your name and other pertinent information on the board, because if your set-up runs into your actual lesson time, you just lose that lesson time. Smile, make eye contact during your lesson, don’t be afraid to interact during the group portion, and if your opinion is different that’s ok. In fact, one of the things my interviewer liked about me was that during the group activity I wasn’t afraid to stand my ground and hold my opinion, although don’t be argumentative. Make sure that you go over the pre-reading if you can. And again, just RELAX.
