My French teacher is somewhat of a hippie, and wants us to write an essay about how technology (i.e. Cell phones) have destroyed an entire generation of people.

Does anyone have an opinion about this...pros and cons over the tech world we live in.

...don't worry about me plagarizing your words, the essay has to be written in French.

Not to mention instances of identity theft and distribution of illegal materials (pirated software, child pornography, etc.) have skyrocketed as well. Definately a major point to hit.

Also, cell phones provide a distraction that keeps you from focusing on what you are doing at the moment. People drive and chat on cell phones, which can cause accidents. Also, people will be with group of friends and suddenly start talking on the cell to someone else, ignoring the people they are with.

Technology has created an environment of working 24/7. Now work can call you on your mobile phone from any country at any hour of the day. They can also email you any time. It has completely changed the face of communication and work. People are now more stressed and over worked than ever.

Technology such as Internet, MSN/AOL/Yahoo!/ICQ/any IM program = addictive, distracting from homework, etc. Also, while allowin' people to make friends all over the world, it might make them experience a loss of contact/reality with their current real world/life.
