@jnkam24 That is what I thought too! I got some really conflicting responses at Experience Temple. I talked to an HLLC representative (not Musu, unfortunately ) who told me that I shouldnât have too much of a problem, and then the Housing staff scared the heck out of me two minutes later basically telling me not to get my hopes up and to sign up for back up housing ASAP. It really stressed me out. I eventually got in to the HLLC, and then I had to beg Musu for help when I didnât get assigned to my roommate. I think she had to pull some strings for usâfor which I am very gratefulâbut thankfully it all worked out.
I think part of the issue is what the Honors staff says vs. what the Housing staff says. I am tempted to trust the Honors staff over the Housing staff, in which case the situation is not as urgent as the Housing staff would want you to believe.
I am in no way omniscient with these matters, but I wanted to share my experiences with everyone so that others know what to expect.
honors housing used to be guaranteed and may still be. Musu or Dr. Ostâs info will be more accurate than regular housing folks on knowing availability.
the guarantee was to live in honors housing, not anywhere on campus, so being in honors would not help you get into morgan or 1900 for example.
No theyâve just been keeping me on hold. Iâve emailed admissions before and they said Iâd hear by the latest April 1 and just wanted to see if anyone else was still waiting
Darn! I think there were a couple people on this thread who were on hold for a while, but if I remember correctly, they all finally got their acceptances. Solution: start spamming admissions with phone calls and emails on April 2nd, and donât tell them it was my idea Best of luck!
Both my daughters (twins) did the Temple Option with weighted GPAs of 3.7 and 3.9. Their applications have been on hold for a second review since 2/25. Hoping to hear this week. My girls also confirmed that Temple received their midyear transcripts. It seems to be a ridiculously long turnaround time. This is the last of about a dozen decisions (for each of them) that we are waiting for.
@justkaron 12/9?! Thatâs unacceptable. I know they are dealing with a lot of applications right now, but yours was in before the rush. I assume youâve called them?
I applied for early action back in October with SAT scores and was placed on hold last week. I just got my response back after 6 months of waiting. Waitlisted.
Are we allowed to do minors cross campus? For example, if I attend, I will be in CST as a bio major but I also want to minor in sociology. Is this possible, because I see nothing on the websites that says it is. If not possible, then I could always just take sociology classes as electives, right?
Anyone know my chances of getting off the waitlist at temple? 3.3 gpa 1600 sats. Is the majority of people accepted going? If accepted Iâll have lost my Deposit at another school but thatâs not a big deal to me. Does anyone know who soon your told if your in or have been denied?
@Chrysanthemum14 , It is possible to do minors in different colleges across campus. You would just have to declare your minor with your adviser and usually tuition stays the same. However, if you want to double major then speak to a CST adviser on 1810 Liacouras Walk.
Hey @kat415 !! Temple University is my absolute dream school and Iâm interested in their nursing program. Iâm currently a junior in highschool (with only one more week left of school) and wanted to know if I may contact you to ask you questions?
