Term Change Request Granted

I just wanted to make this thread because I have officially been granted the request to change from Summer C to Fall. I just wanted to let Pasbal and whoever gave me insight on switching terms that it worked out.

I e-mailed admissions about my family obligations over the summer and at first they were persistent about not letting me change; they told me that the request could not be granted. However after several follow up e-mails and sending in my official mid-year report, they let me change from Summer to Fall (I had straight A's and only 1 C in 5 of my AP classes), and now I am officially starting in the Fall.

So in the very rare occasion that one may want to switch terms, let this be a precedent, it definitely is possible.

Whats funny is that I only got into FSU for the summer, and I got into UF for the fall. This happened the very same day my request was granted, so now I am facing an even bigger dilemma. I am definitely leaning towards FSU though!

Thanks again to Pasbal, Wallacefl, and FLteacher for all your help.

Congrats on getting your term changed. As you experienced, the admissions office is really hesitant on doing any sort of term change and it can take quite a bit of back and forth for them to agree to it… even when you have extenuating circumstances that make it seem like a no-brainer.

I wish I could say that dealing with any level of FSU administration is different than what you experienced, but sadly in my experience what you dealt with is basically par for the course. Not that every university will be better (most seem to be about the same), but it’s one thing to consider with FSU. Getting administration to do anything can be like pulling teeth.
