Testudo FinAID "My Budget"

jTate,

You should still be able to log in to TESTUDO for your award information without confirming yet.

Okay, I checked it and they need verification. I applied as a transfer student and got my decision April 1st, so basically, that leaves me less than a month to decide if I want to attend. If i mail in the all the documents this week, would they receive it and tell me my award immediately? BTW, I am OOS and my EFC is 0. Is Maryland good w/ offering financial aid?

That may be a question best answered by financial aid. I cannot imagine the answer to be available immediately though.

Does anyone know to what e-mail address I can send my request for more financial aid? Or should I mail my request?

SmajoHurko: my son got nothing, although I hadn’t known it because he never told me that it was online and I kept waiting for a letter to arrive in the mail like it did from Delaware. Anyway, I called and got some guy who told me in a rather firm way that my son did not meet the criteria (SAT required was 1390) and even though he got into College Park Scholars, there was no merit money for him. I asked if that was final and he said yes. Too bad, since he got into the business section of CPS, so it would appear that other than his sub-1390 SAT, they do want him to attend.

If there is a way to appeal the decision in a way that actually has a chance of success, I’d love to hear it.

If my Total need is $20,997.00 and my Unmet need is $17,997.00 but there is nothing under the awards,
does that mean I got a scholarship/grant/loan of $3000?

justin i think thats what that means because if you look at my original post, before i received any financial aid award there was still some info under My Budget:

TOTAL NEED $35,643.00
UNMET NEED $27,643.00

I was hoping that the 8000 gap meant that i got a scholarship and thats exactly what happened lol i got the 8000 Presidential scholarship

im OOS and i ended up getting 25,000 of total aid (including the scholarship) so it worked out well

What;s a reasonable amount of loans that a student should take out?
