I'm applying to more than 6 schools. Should I list schools that I know would offer me less of aid (in my case, state schools) or my favourite schools? Does it really matter, if all my schools will receive this form sooner or later? And finally, does it matter what order I list my first 6 schools?

The order doesn't matter. DS also applied to more than 6 schools when he applied two years ago. He did the FAFSA first with the schools with the earliest deadlines. Once the SAR was received for those, he went in and deleted some schools and added others.

Choose the 6 schools by date they require the FAFSA-- those that require it in feb should be on the form, and you can request that it be sent to the rest when you recieve your SAR.

thanks for the help!

can you send it to more than 6 schools? (I am not done with mine yet)

yes,you can send the FAFSA to more than 6 schools. just follow the instructions above

oh yeah, thanks. I didn't see thumper's last sentence.

maybe I'm retarded or something, but immediately after we submit the FAFSa, we can go back and send it to an additional 6+ schools without having to wait for the SAR right?

hey, guess what? I can't log into my FAFSA renewal! has anyone experienced this?
