the big list of acceptances

Hey everybody! I'm new to the boards but I was recently excepted into the Umich MT program. I'm so freakin excited! CMU is my top choice and I'm still waiting to hear from them and CCM (but CCM really scared me at my audition)!

Just to let people know that my daughter ("broadwaywannabe") was accepted last week into University of the Arts with a fine talent award.

Congratulations to "WISCONSIN" and broadwaywannabe. Very exciting!

I just did my one and only audition on Saturday, for UCLA....and I am SOOOO nervous waiting to hear back from them!!! I swear I'm gonna go insane...

GO BLUE, WISCONSIN!

Congratulations to ALL so far who've heard and those who haven't heard. Whether you were accepted, deferred, waitlisted, or denied, you deserve a huge pat on the back and a big hug!

theatermom: My coaching student who auditioned at UM for VP was accepted by email a few days ago. She heard in just over a week from her audition! Another student (not mine), who auditioned at UM for MT and VP, still hasn't heard.

NYTHEATERMOM....having known you a long while, following your daughter's journey, I want to shout YIPPEE! SO happy for her! Whew, huh? She's going to a program next year and her goals have been realized. I know the process is not over but big relief now, lots of joy, enjoy! Send my best to your daughter.

Anonydad...welcome and big congrats to your child! Awesome accomplishment!

"WISCONSIN"...wow, what a FIRST post! Couldn't be better! Hooray for you! UM may not be your first choice but you sure have a GREAT option there if you want it. Nice job!

Gkoukla...wow for your student and it must feel very satisfying to have a person you coached get accepted to a school she is interested in.

Pineapple sushi...hang in there...the wait is tough and I recall it well this time last year....we had not heard from most of my D's schools by this time, just a couple.

It is wonderful reading of these outcomes....keep them comin'!

nytheatremom, congratulations to your D on her acceptance, and her fine talent award. She must be over the moon! Congratulate her for all of us here on the list.

Lisa

WISCONSIN-
Yeah! Go Cheeseheads!!!

A student from the Dallas Summer Musical School of Musical Theatre was accepted after the Chicago auditions.

Add a Texan to the list for UM mt

xxx,Mary Anna

Wow! Maybe I should go out of town more often!! I was away for a day and a half and when I get back there are acceptances all over the place and even a couple to UM. To echo Gkoukla, GO BLUE!!

In response to specific questions/posts (forgive the delay):

PRFRMR20 - This young woman heard last week but I don't know how - by email, snail mail, phone?? I know you are wanting to know what to expect, but the year my D was accepted, everything was by snail mail and I don't know what the current policy is. Were you told anything at the auditions? Wish I could be more helpful, but I just don't know. Expect anything, I guess and I'll hope for the best.

WISCONSIN - Congrats to you (even if CMU is your first choice ;) ) If and when you have a choice to make, and/or you decide you need more info, I'd be happy to answer any specific questions as I have information about both programs. I'm sure you know that you can't go wrong at either.

Mary Anna - congrats to your accepted UM student. Will he or she accept or wait for other options?

NYdancemom - You know I couldn't be happier for you and your D. Maybe you'll be spending time in my neck of the woods over the next four years?

Yay for all the happy endings that are here or on the way!!

This Texan is not a current student of mine. I directed her at the DSM School, but strike one up for the home team!

Alas, my current student is still deferred.

Congrats to all.

xxx,Mary Anna

I just started posting on a different thread. My D got her first not quite rejection today. Even though it isn't a musical theatre school I thought I would let everyone know that her letter came today from Evansville. Wait listed until April 15. They took 6 females. Wait listed is certainly more encouraging than rejected.

marianne406 - Best of luck with Evansville. I hope your D gets in. My nephew is graduating this May from there with his degree in Acting. He just auditioned at the Chicago Unifieds for Master's Programs and has been accepted by Rutgers with a scholarship to boot. Evansville has a great rep. for getting it's students into Master's Programs. The Department Chair is a very nice gentleman. He was very involved in the Unifieds and some of his graduates worked the desk in NY assisting/directing parents and students.

Marianne...welcome. And kudos to your daughter on the waitlist which is indeed better than a rejection. She still has a chance and no matter how that particular decision turns out, the waitlist is still an affirmation. Hope she feels good about that. And I hope to see you joining in and leaving the land of the lurkers!

Lynn...sending congrats to your nephew on his graduate school acceptance. Acting at Rutgers is a great accomplishment!

i got into BFA MT at U of CO.

okay that was me, tothestage again...sheesh.
