<p>Congrats, kegosnell!!! It's nice to breathe again, isn't it? Just got back from Ithaca...last audition! Yeah! I look forward to checking to see where everyone is hearing from....it is exciting.</p>
<p>Thanks so much for all of the congrats!! I am also done w/ my auditions and anxiously waiting for Otterbein and OCU's MT decisions! It's a good thing I'm incredibly busy w/ school and a community show right now, or I would probably go crazy with excitement/anxiety about college! lol. </p>

<p>I want March and April to come! I finished my last audition Saturday, so now all I have to do is wait....</p>
<p>Well I just got my first acceptance decision. I got accepted to Florida State University's musical theater BFA program. I got a call earlier today, SO now I have a spot in FSU's program with full tuition and more paid by scholarship money. AHHH I am soooo happy. However, I still have to find out about University of Michigan, Boston Conservatory, PennState, and Carnegie Mellon. I guess I'll just have to wait.......</p>

<p>This is not for posting to the "big list" as this young woman is not a CC poster or lurker, but I know there are many of you out there wondering if ANYBODY is getting into what are called - on CC at least - the "Ivies." I learned today of a girl from the greater Philadelphia area who has been accepted to CCM for Musical Theater and has also been notified of deferral status at UM for MT. I believe that she auditioned at both schools in late January or early February. UM is her first choice so I was happy to tell her that being deferred is still a positive result (she was feeling a little blue) - kind of like getting a callback, i.e., she is still very much in the running. I advised her to keep in touch with the folks at UM and to let them know that they are her first choice. I also learned of some additional information that can only strengthen her file and advised her to send that info along to the school.</p>
<p>I'm hoping to hear of some CC'ers with similar good news very soon! Hang in there.</p>
<p>theatermom, wow, congratulate your acquaintance on her acceptance to CCM and her deferral to UM, both for MT. When I read your post, I thought "What an incredibly lucky girl!" She should be on Cloud Nine. I am guessing that there are lots of students on this list that would give their eyeteeth to be accepted to CCM.</p>

<p>At my child's request, I am posting anonymously. My child recieved a phone call on Feb. 14, from UMinn -Acting- with an invitation to the callback weekend (March 4,5,6), and was accepted to CCM Acting by email on Tuesday night, Feb 21. UMinn said 50 were called back, and CCM said 35 were accepted to Acting.</p>
<p>anonydad, congrats to your child! Did he or she audition for CCM for acting, or for MT? I am still fuzzy as to whether candidates for MT at CCM can be offered the acting (straight drama) track without actually auditioning ONLY for straight acting. Forgive me if this has been asked and answered; my brains feel like moosh today. :)
I haven't seen much discussion about the program at University of Minnesota? Can anyone tell me a little about that?
In any case, congratulations to your student. Clearly, your child is modest and humble as well as talented and successful. I hope that when the time comes for my D's college search, I will be able to restrain myself from announcing good news of this kind in big old, capital letters with blazing smiley faces. :)

<p>To NotMamaRose - you canNOT be offered straight drama at CCM based on the MT audition - it is a separate audition, for different people.</p>

<p>NotMamaRose- you can audition for both drama and MT but you have to do two separate auditions. The programs are very separate.</p>
