The Brown Early Decision 2017 Discussion Thread

True that.
hmmm…questions…how long have you guys know Brown was your first choice/ when did you fall in love (with Brown)?

So I heard that Brown would be sending out decisions on Dec. 12th, anyone else hear that? (It may not be true…don’t hold me to it!)

Yup, there’s a website that says Dec. 12 after 5pm.

Lovely, 3 days less anticipation

Do you think it’s 5pm EST? Or by region?

EST probs. And god forbid…time zone discrimination!

I think itll be eastern time and at 5 we can all log on and find out but I’m just speculating. Do you think the servers will crash? I’ve heard horror storys from friends who waited all day for an email. I feel like it would be easier to just check on the Wednesday instead of stressing

Yeah when my brother checked his decision for a college two years ago, the server was really really slow so he ended up only seeing his decision 20-30 minutes after they said it would be up.

Hey everyone

Just found this thread and so glad that I did. I applied ED to Brown like all of you and had my interview about one week ago. It was a wonderful interview and he said I would be the perfect kind of student for the school but I’m not letting that get my hopes up.

I was born and raised in Munich, Germany and have my own Graphic Design business.

Good luck to all of you! 8 more days.

You have your own business? And I thought my extracurriculars were awesome.

And I bet they are. I started it up in 2009. It’s a Web/Graphic design business called Pixelton Designs.

We specialize in Social media consulting, e-commerce sites and a bunch of other stuff. It’s been a blast. I created it after learning how to code a site for my mom’s shop. :)

what other schools are you guys applying to? what are your second, third, etc. choices? mostly other universities, or liberal arts schools? Wesleyan and Vassar are tied for second place for me, and i’m applying to mostly liberal arts colleges, along with Yale and Georgetown.

Brown is an absolute reach for me so my next top choice is American University along with BU, Northeastern, Syracuse, Yale, Drexel (safety), George Washington and U Michigan.

Brown, then UChicago. The rest (Rice, Georgetown, Tufts, BostonC, CMU, to name just a few) just kind of blend together.

Theres 2 types of schools I’m looking at. 1) Schools that offer Public Policy and 2) Schools w/ Strong Liberal Arts commitments…
BROWN HAS BOTH which is great… but for my list after brown is
LAC: Amherst, Wesleyan, Williams, Tufts, Bowdoin (maybe)
Policy: Northwestern, Duke, Cornell, USC

Georgia Tech = Aerospace Engineering

UChicago = Economics.

Brown= History and Computer Science

UC Berkeley= Electrical engineering.

Im also thinking of applying to HKUST (Hong kong) for …wait for it… CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

Brown, Penn, Stanford, Duke, Cornell, Northwestern, Tufts, Emory, USC, Michigan, Wisconsin - Madison, Cal (Berkeley, LA, SD, Davis), UIUC

For Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Science or Neuroscience depending on the university.
