Ah, I see. Good good. You never know where you would end up.

basic schooling only.

Indeed. And you? 10 hours a day prep?

So does anybody know if any “great” Indian has studied purely in India?

No more. :)

The first person mentioned in that article

Wow, you’ve finished preparing for IIT and BITS? Guess we’ll all be seeing your photo in the newspapers very soon.

He’s an exception. More examples? (Leave out cricketers or Bollywood actors).

Yes, look for it. Show it to as many passengers as you can in your auto. Say “You see that pic. I know that guy”

‘Great’ Indians are exceptions, rsaxena.

But anyway.
CV Raman
APJ Abdul Kalam
Anil Kakodkar

Certainly. The only reason I joined IIT coaching after 10th was to make sure my photo appeared in the newspapers. Since that doesn’t seem to have worked out, I’ll be more than happy in my auto showing another topper’s photo.

You’re making it sound as though only one or two people from India have become great, which is certainly not true. Hundreds of Indians have become great over the years.

^ I certainly did not intend to. It may have come across that way.
Solely educated in India and done something great -> exceptional.

Oh and I edited my post to add those names.

Good to be back on CC. Congrats to those who were accepted recently!

Yes! A double minor is possible and many students do that. :)

Now, my question, how many subjects one can major in? I do know about double major but isn’t there something more than that? :p

So it has been established that Chromey studies at DPS RKP. If so, my chancing was vastly inaccurate. You’ll get into MOST of your reaches!

Congrats nemo! EE really is a pain in the butt.

IITK sends us a newsletter every quarter and this time they had a list of distinguished alumni. Is it just a mere coincidence that ALL of them have studied in an American university, with the exception of the RTI activist Shailesh Gandhi? Probably not :)

But its really funny- hardly any of them went to a Stanford or CMU or MIT. Most of them went to places like Arlington, Louisiana, Delaware, etc…

No. He studies at Modern Barakhamba.
DPS RKP sent no one to Yale early this year.

^^triple major.

^ So pp, are you from RKP?

Hey i heard this girl from Modern got 2390 on her SAT’s and got accepted Yale early?

Boy the competition in Delhi is stiff so many 2300’s in 1 city… My city has like 1 2300 as far as i am aware xD.

And that happens to be you eh :P

lol no me 2290 :p. That guy is at a 2360 :P

^^^ My school was confused with another school in Delhi (RKP!) due to the fact that both of them shared the same initials. I had to send e-mails to 4-5 colleges so that they could rectify the mistake.

You got that right.

You got that right.
I hope I get in somewhere.
Last year people got into Yale, Cornell, UPenn, Brown, BU, 3x CMU, UIUC.
I already got into UIUC but I’m not very keen on it.

BU is not that good lol

Oh that reminds me, did any of you’ll get into UIUC Honors/ James Scholar Program? I did and idk what it is also :P

I didn’t get one cause my SAT score’s very low.
I know BU isn’t good. Was just saying. I haven’t even applied.
