<p>Hey did anyone else get a letter inviting you for an Engineering open house at UCLA, with stuff written like “I consider your app highly competitive”, “I congratulate you for the fine work you did in high school” etc? </p>
<p>The open house has lunch, etc. And they’ve given me an rsvp code as well… So I don’t think its a general email. Opinions, anyone?</p>

<p>oh and Anirudh, I got the letter too and I had withdrawn my application like two months back. So I guess its automated. I don’t mean to be a party pooper or anything, just wanted to let you know.</p>
<p>@chelsearox: haha even I’m screwed for physics. Barely got any studying done yesterday and day before and somehow I’ve managed to spend the whole day today on the computer. Hopefully the manic studying I did for the pre-boards will help me out in some way.</p>
<p>Well it kinda means that your application hadn’t been withdrawn and that you’re getting a decision soon.</p>
<p>And its obviously automated since, well, that Professor can’t sit and type the email for the 2-3k to whom this email mustve been sent! </p>

<p>And I don’t think that UCLA is sadistic (enough) to send such a positive/encouraging letter just 5-10 days before admission decisions!</p>
<p>Out of the 6 people I know that I applied to UCLA, only 2 got the mail. </p>
<p>So it wasn’t sent out to all applicants. Most applicants? maybe :p</p>
