On the Neiman site, this is pretty for @Colorado-mom, but pretty pricey too. It is the same make as a dress I wore to one of my daughter’s weddings. (Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon)
Totally love this floral. Totally hate the price.
Love the Kay Unger @Marilyn selected, too. Pair with a floral wrap.
Don’t get too excited about the Kate Unger. Sizes 4, 6 and 8 are out of stock. And my main agenda on Tuesday is Nordstrom (where I have appt with stylist, more links not needed.) NM is a maybe.
Better yet it is at the Nordstrom Rack in Boulder, where we’ll be tomorrow for an appointment. Interesting since I buzzed that store last month and didn’t seem many formal dresses.
@Colorado_mom - so glad you have an appointment! I have never used this service, so I do hope you will report back on your experience with it, how much time they spend with you, if they did a good job in selecting things that matched your criteria, etc.
Nordstrom offered me 50 bucks to go in and see a stylist. I had been thinking about it anyway, so figured what the heck. I have heard good things, but my experience wasn’t great. I mentioned a brand I liked (Nic and Zoe) so she only brought me that brand, plus different brands of jeans.
This is why I went withe a compression cami rather than bottoms. I had a form fitting sheath type dress and this actually worked much better for me.
I am glad someone mentioned a compression cami because that is what I am starting to look at. Do you happen to remember the brand?
Look at Simone Perele Top Model. This shaper doesn’t slide up unlike many others, including more expensive ones!
FYI since this is the hot wedding thread right now:
Bankruptcy for David’s Bridal
Sad for those 9,000 people. But things probably weren’t going well judging by their local stores. My daughter went there last year and was very disappointed. Low stock, bridesmaids’ dresses that looked cliche braidsmaid, and very matronly MOx dresses.
In other sad news…
Revisiting “Light-in the Box”. I noted a few posts mentioned this company in the past. I found several dresses there that seem to do what I’m seeking (sleeves, long, chiffon, cross between picnic and evening, subtle floral, etc.). But some are SOOOO inexpensive, I question the quality? I acknowledge you often “get what you pay for”, so I tried to find outside reviews. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this company?
Return shipping may be pricey, but on some dresses, the original price is so low, it might not be necessary.
Some very pretty eye candy dresses! We can dream, right?

This dress might look great with the wrap @ChoatieMom linked just above. And the wrap would add the garden/floral feel.
That wrap costs more than I’d ever spend on any article of clothing. It was just an image suggestion for that Kay Unger dress.
Both beautiful dresses. My friend wore that designer when she was MOB. The workmanship is beautiful but expensive.
In the spirit of this thread and sharing links. My friend needs a dress as a daughter of the groom. Her Dad is remarrying and I sent the link. She is going to order it.
Well…I’m sure with a good search, something less costly but nice could be found.
