I wish I had gone that route. But I had covid when I started my MOG ordering, got into a mail order cycle. Then store visits (not all that close) because sizing was a challenge.

I have a feeling with the less common colors I want that I may need to do online. If I were looking for navy it would be a different story. But Iâll give it a try!

@bjscheel , I had my MOG dress orders sent directly to me,tried them on at home and returned the ones i didnât want directly to my local Dillardâs store. I did look in person at Dillardâs, Nordstrom, and Macyâs. Ended up buying online with Dillardâs. Good luck!

I just wanted to report back that I received the dress below and D1 (the bride) and D2 (the fashionista) both love it! The color compliments the MOGâs dress and will also look good with the sage green of the bridesmaids. I think the dress runs a bit big as the smaller size was the one that fit me best. Now I just have to find shoes. Iâm excited to be one and done!

@BunsenBurner - the wedding and reception are outdoors on grass (with a dance floor) so Iâm thinking that some type of block heal might be best? I thought silver or gray would go best with the dress.

Although I ultimately ended up going with a pink/lavendar block heel, I was pleasantly surprised with how many silver shoe choices were available in stores and online (including Macyâs). We rejected many silver choices that were good for outdoors because the wedges were brownish⊠hubby thought looked odd with my almost-midi dress. But in retrospect with the grass that would not have been noticeable.

I have never had any luck finding dresses at stores in many yearsâthey donât have much selection nor sizes. Online there are a lot more dresses and sizes. Of course, Iâd prefer being able to shop in person and it feels a bit wasteful ordering a lot of dresses just to find one or two but that seems to be how things are nowadays.

I donât wear solid black (or white or similar) to weddings. Have never been asked to do so and thatâs the only time Iâd even consider it. One of my friends attended a wedding went to a wedding where all guests were requested to wear black or white. The bride referred to it as her 1st wedding and had a deal with a magazine to photograph the wedding in exchange for sone benefits and/or $$ to her. Marriage didnât last long.
Kim Kardashian? 
One of my daughters had a small intimate wedding ceremony and she asked that I and my other daughter wear black. (she was in white)

Iâm happy to wear whatever the wedding couple prefer. An all black & white wedding is outside my personal experience but iâm sure itâs artsy for photos.
I received the dress I linked above in 3 sizes through the try-on feature. The largest one was still snug around the rib cage and the cap sleeves made it hard to raise my arms. Going any bigger would have made the bust too large. Turns out they use something called âHappy Returnsâ and I could return it to Ulta Beauty?? Which would normally be a pain but DD had a wedding dress appt yesterday just around the corner from Ulta.
Before I headed out for the appointment, I looked at the mallâs list of stores and I hadnât realized there was a Von Maur. I had already tried Dillards and Nordstrom Rack with absolutely no luck. But at VM I picked out 5 dresses to try- and ordered this in Wine in size 10 (store had up to size 8):

DDâs color palette of pinks is likely going to run towards wine at the darker end so she said this was great.
