The Official AP Chemistry Discussion Thread

wait that’s EXACTLY how i feel hahaha

i mean models are useful, of course, but when there are more exceptions than rules, and everything is just an approximation or a probability function, it all seems so irrational

MC was hard… When I first went over it, I had prob. 30 blanks. I managed to solve about 15 of them. 3, I had to skip. Rest, I guessed bet. maybe 2 or 3 choices.

FRQ was easy enough, was glad there wasn’t anything I didnt remember. I know I missed one point because I used 1mol = 22.4 L when it wasnt STP And I also missed another one because I thought something wrong about the intermolecular force…

oh well… I think they give points if you use consitant calculation and stuff…

I prob. got 4 or 5

Yeah it seemed pretty easy to be honest, and I didn’t even study.
Only FRQ 1 killed me, because my teacher didn’t teach that topic. But the rest was pretty easy (I hope I am not talking out of my ass).

i had no idea how to do FRQ 3…

but who cares? i’m done with AP chem foreverrrrrrrrrr!!! :):):):):)

That was hard…

I don’t think it was too bad, I’m just glad it’s over with :)

MC was alright.
FRQ killed me. Which is weird because those were the questions I rocked at all year long.
I’m doomed.
But I will quote Neon Green when I say “but who cares? i’m done with AP chem foreverrrrrrrrrr!!!”

MC was easy… i think i got around 60…

calculator free response was also easy… got around 80% on that…

last 3 free response… lets not even start… im praying for 20%

Multiple choice… harder than I thought it would be. Just saw stuff I did not think would be on there (I had Princeton Review’s book).

Free Response I thought was fairly easy. I’m sure I missed some, but I think I got a 5.

I’m so crippled by my calculator… the math was painful.

The MC was harder than expected, but doable.

I was so disappointed that there were two BIG topics that were nonexistent whatsoever. The calculator part ruled! I also didn’t like the fact that the whole test was so conceptual, even most of the math was applied.

Last part of #3 was a bit odd.

MC was decent

FRQ except #1 was pretty good

I left 5 blank in the free response, probably missed 16 at the most aside from that.
I’m pretty sure I got most of the free response, I forgot to take the inverse of one thing and I messed one part of the conceptual stuff of part 1(I think) but I think I got most of the rest of it that I was unsure about.

Probably a 5, maybe a 4. That’s how all my exams have gone, it’s nerve racking. I bet I’ll get all 4s, that would suck so much.

that was entirely fair–no clue what i’ll get b/c no idea how the curve really works but it felt good!

so happy it’s done!!!
time for AP lang!! :)

I left around 3-4 blank on the mc with a feeling that i got most if not all of the ones i answered correct.

Free response: hmmm, i got #1 correct for sure except for that last portion which i messed up, #2 i got most of it correct, #3 i messed up completely but my subsequent calculations were in accordance with my first couple of answers so i’m hoping for pity points lol. #4 i messed up on 2 of them, #5 and # 6 i’m positive i got around 90% correct. I’m hoping for a 5, but i know a 4 is more likely.

Can we discuss specific mc yet? One is really bothering me.

Hey guys – Definately a fair test. I expected much worse. And that’s coming from someone who taught himself the course in 2 weeks, basically.

Unfortunately, I didn’t do ANY labs, and I was under time pressure, so I had to skip 2 and guess on about… say 30 wrong at the absolute WORST?

but I thought FR was really easy, maybe ~80% correct…

That enough for a 5, you guys think?

no I don’t think we can ever discuss MC =(

I left 39 blank on the multiple choice and a few blank on the free response, hoping for a 3, probably got a 2

one question, how do they grade the frqs. i took some WILD guesses on it. is it like BC, where they add up points to give you your grade? Im sooo confused. my teacher SUCKED. so i basically was trying to teach it to myself this weekend. i probably got a 2, a 3 if im lucky! it was so hard!!!

^ I think the BC questions are all weighted the same (9 pts each). For chem, the pt total per question and weighting varies. It’s something like

1 20%

2 20%

3 20%

4 10%

5 15%

6 15%

The whole FRQ section is 50%.
