The Official AP Chemistry Discussion Thread

but how do they grade each individual question? taking off points or adding them up?

That test grabbed me, bent me over, and did something to me that’s illegal in the state of California.

Californian: I feel the exact same way.

totally agree Californian. i was humiliated and beaten to a pile of pulp by that test.

hm i dont know if anyone here agrees with me. But i thot the FRQ had a few parts that were hard like part g) (especially part 1) for example but the rest of it was easy. Part 2 on the other hand was really easy. Multiple choice was fairly challenging. But i think i just felt like crap after because there were parts of the frq that i had no idea how to do. But there were a lot more easy questions than easy ones. Multiple choice on the other hand was fairly challenging. No one else agrees with me?

yeah I blanked on like ICE-boxes rofl…

Ha ha ha ha, I’m still laughing at this.

vwitme: I totally agree with you. Parts of it were harder than I thought it would be, but most were fairly easy. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a 5 unless I made a bunch of stupid errors, so it wasn’t too bad.

I generally thought the entire exam was easier than I thought it would be.
The lab screwed with me so much. But I managed.
Also, is it just me… or were the reactions wayyyy too easy? :expressionless:
Maybe I messed up.

Overall, definitely a 3… perhaps a 4. It would suck if it ended up being a 1-point-away-from-a-4 3.

wait what was the 3rd free response about. just give me the topic it was on i dont recall it

points are awarded, not taken away.

I’m not sure we can discuss the specific questions yet. ^^
… or ever.

just the topic not the questions. the topic will jog my memory.

Okay, bond energies were mentioned… photon.
I can’t remember anything else related to that question.

oh and then there was that stupid rate law at the end that i didnt know

Yea, I left that too.

I thought the MC and FR were both pretty easy. Expecting a 5.

i thought the test was really easy

and i taught myself in one day

definite 4 but prbly 5

I thought the MC was good, but I was so slow at working at the FRQs. I left a few blank ):
I know you can get 25 MC questions wrong and still get a 5. Let’s say I got 15 wrong on the MC. Is there a certain amount I on the FRQ that I could leave out and still get a 4-5?

i thought this test was SO hard

i was looking at old FRQs yesterday and i understood all of them

but there were things on MC that i didn’t know how to do

and then on free response, i didn’t understand some of the questions

i had to leave two or three parts blank… that was so bad
