The Official Calling of the Official Decisions Thread... Officially

Aw man, my school literally JUST announced that we have a snow day and I was all ready to head off and everything (I have to be out of the house by 6:40 to make it on time).

It's great because I have an extra day to get the hw done that I didn't do last night because I was talking to you people, but this now means that I've already been up for an hour and am not likely to go to sleep again.

WHAT??? You've had now school ducktape for the past two days right? Haha...still doesnt beat half-days every day. So what're your plans now?? Im prolly going to immerse myself in studying and piano so that I dont think about MIT.

It's only freezing rain here and i guess thats not enough to cancel school. How come you get a snow day? Is it actually snowing there? Please blow it over here. Haha, i saw your school on wwmt.com school closing list. If you look at kalamazoo, there is one lousy thing and its not even a school!!!

omg...that rocks...

I just have hurricane days...and um...those are not fun...

Curse you Florida and your nice weather!!

Good luck to all you EAers =)

Yeah. Honestly, it's not too bad up here, but we do have around an inch of icy slush and it's supposed to keep coming down until midnight. You guys were supposed to get more of the rain part and the ice was supposed to his us worse.

But yeah, 4 day weekend. Woohoo! I'm actually going to finish cleaning my room today for the first time in months, and then work on debate. And bake.

almost exactly 4 days left.... ahhhhhh

Hey, something to do Friday for those of you who don't have plans yet: Best Meteor Shower of 2007 Peaks Dec. 13 - Yahoo! News.

The Geminids are peaking Friday night, so if you can't sleep, just head outside- the shower should start to get really good around 10, and should peak at 2. If you aren't doing anything Saturday morning (such as working...) it'd definitely be worth your while to watch.

13-14... isn't that Thursday night?

The beginning of the article says the 13th and 14th (Thursday and Friday night), but Friday night is the bigger night if you continue reading.

Question to everyone (I AM SO BORED): Would you rather get rejected outright early or deferred? And no, accepted is not an answer. ;) Obviously we'd all pick that if we could.

Ohh! Yay!

I'd rather get deferred. That way there's still hope.

If I am going to get rejected on regular decision after a deferral, I would like to know right now. That way, there is still time to apply to more colleges I could get into, and I won't get any false hope.

I think I'd rather just get rejected, because frankly I don't think I stand much chance of getting in if I'm deferred.

When I did my overnight at MIT I met 3 people who were deferred EA and accepted RA. You stand a chance. =]

Thing is, I pretty much played all my cards already. I wouldn't have anything great to send in as a supplement. It'd just be the same thing over again.

I'm just a pessimist, don't mind me.

ducktape - snow days already! where are you?? haha. one year my school canceled midterms because of snow, as we were out the whole week. that was pretty sweet, though some teachers still gave them and counted them as tests, and though I had spent the whole time studying bio, then didn't have a bio midyear (hey i did memorize photosynthesis and the krebs cycle though :-) including a bunch of intermediaries). Still... no midyears would be nice... mm snow days. wonderful. I hope we have some, seeing as at our school seniors don't have to make them up...

Michigan. Hold up your left hand- I live a little south of where your ring finger meets the rest of your hand.

Hmm..I'd like to be deferred than rejected..They supposedly reject those with completely no chance in RD..

And on your palm, I'm about an inch below where ducktape lives haha. Oh, and I would definitely rather be deferred.

i would definitely rather be deferred too, because then they'd think i was competitive for the reg. round or whatever

i had a snow day yesterday! lol and probably one tomorrow too.. also, @ whoever it was that said they only had freezing rain, yesterday's "snow day" was actually an ice day because of the freezing rain.. lol
