The Official Pakistani Thread for the Class of 2014

Nice to see ppl coming!!
WElcome to the thread ;)

@Dark: I wanna know about Summer internships there too! THere’s hardly any opportunity for non-Saudis here :(

@Saad: Great achievements, best of luck! =D

@Sara: Wah amazing grades Mashallah! All the best! Btw, I scored 1840 in the SAT too  :(

Yup me 2 camon guys lets share.

saad, you have the grades that put you in the ‘range’ for those schools, but remember that grades alone never get you accepted into a top US school. ECs, recommendation letters, and essays play just as big a role, so don’t forget to pay close attention to those.

When do you guys get your decisions?

Got all my 6 decisions around 1st April…

BTW how many of u will post ur all decisions on the thread???

@Sara what college did you apply to in Cambridge , did you get the interview?

@Sara getting into stern is a whole new ballgame it’s among the top business schools in theUS getting in for liberal arts is much easier that’s why I’m not too optimistic

But you’re not applying for aid… so the ‘whole new ball game’ scenario does not apply to u. US universities ‘need’ international students paying full fees this year around… so dont lose hope… and i applied to ‘murray edwards’ at cambridge.

I am applying to Columbia summer school apparently you get an evaluation from a columbia professor at the end people say that if it’s fantastic it gives you an edge in Columbia admissions

Is this true

I am applying to Columbia summer school apparently you get an evaluation from a columbia professor at the end people say that if it’s fantastic it gives you an edge in Columbia admissions

^You have to be pretty damn impressive to get a GOOD evaluation from a professor at Columbia.

Just got into York University =P I didn’t get into the programme I was applying for (since Pakistani HSSC doesn’t meet their academic requirements :S :S :S :S :S :S :S), but they gave me an alternate offer =)

McMaster, here I come!

Does anyone know how long it takes Canadian Universities to make their admission decision?

Depends on the university you applied to. Most of them give an admission decision 2-4 weeks after they receive ALL your documents, and that includes English proficiency transcripts.

Btw, McGill gives Early acceptances to exceptional students in end Feb-beginning of March, and the regular acceptances start mid-May!

^^^^^^^^
I don’t think hr is anything like that for McGill…All of my friends and school fellows who applied to McGill got their decision in early or mid feb and many of them had nothing exceptional.
