The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2020

@Rajper But I have only applied in SDSB

What are my chances for SSE with:

O- 6As 3Bs

SAT 1- 1840

AS- 3As 1B

Expected- 3As 1B

Extra Curriculars awards- Public Speaking(MUNs)

SSE test- Chem went well while maths & phy were normal.

MAJOR- EE or CS.

financial Aid- No.

What is their top priority ?
Is it O level? If yes then why People with 5As have got acceptances PLUS
I know people with lower SAT and AS grades getting in.

Kindly Post your Opinions.
Thank you.

@AltoLime

@“Malcolm SSE” I’ll be honest, you don’t have the best chances mate.
However, that being said you still do have a small chance, you’re below what I’d call the average with regards to all of your stats. But you’re not that far below the averages to say your admission is almost impossible, maybe like on the 40-45th percentile in terms of the stats you posted compared with the stats of people that get into SSE.
Their admissions do go till the end of June, so just try staying optimistic.
On the other hand, do explore other options and prepare for the worst case scenario.

@garbled3 really? Oh man you should have applied to 2 schools at least. I just hope you get the acceptance

@“Malcolm SSE” I think you do have good chances. You have good credentials plus if your SSE test went well then you’ll definitely get in. People with 6 As are getting acceptances then why not you

@garbled3 listen. Call the admissions office and ask them to add up other schools in your application. Please do it!

@Rajper I don’t think there’s any point in that. If s/he applied to SDSB only, it’s because they want to study in that particular school only and probably don’t consider the other schools an option. I also applied to only one school (SSE) because I wanted to study there only, no other schools. Plus calling them now to add more schools will look like a desperate move to get in and probably won’t be allowed either.

You should only apply to one school if you have strong credentials that’ll for sure get you in. To be on the safe side you should apply to 2 schools at least and keep your desired school as your top preference. Isn’t it better to get into lums rather than not getting in because you made a mistake in your application by selecting one school only? You can easily transfer in his sophomore year. And I don’t think it’s a desperate move. Even if it is, there’s every reason for it to be because it’s about your future. They do allow you to make changes to your application if you missed something very important. Though it’s kind of late but trying won’t hurt :slight_smile: @mchaditheyoda

Plus they teach basic courses in the freshman year and everybody gets to choose their major at the end of the year

My credentials weren’t that strong, I was told I had about a 50% chance of making it (which was obviously exaggerated and wrong but I didn’t know that at that time), I still only applied to SSE since I’ve studied science/comp/math all my life and couldn’t see myself studying something else, I thought it might get me a needless acceptance from another school rather than SSE.
You can transfer but it depends on your GPA and factors like remaining seats etc as far as I’ve heard.
But yes if the main purpose is solely to get into LUMS then by all means do try adding more schools.
@rajper

@mchaditheyoda that’s correct

@mchaditheyoda What were your Stats?
And which school are you from?

@“Malcolm SSE”
4A’s 4A’s B C in O’levels
